Default Something I've had on my Mind for a Long time....

I am, by far, the oldest member of this board -- at least from all the ages I have been seeing.

I KNOW there are a bunch of fat old ladies waddling around who are perfect candidates for RNY - some guys, too!

So this is my request: If you know someone who is 65 plus, and is interested in wls but is afraid or put off because he/she is too old, please pm me. I would be happy to help emotionally, no matter where they are located. I have telephone service that is a flat fee for long distance. No problem.

I am 67, and I'm sorry I didn't have the surgery sooner. But 3.5 months post op, I feel like a totally new woman, a happier woman.

It's not just for you young ones, it's for us old and decrepit ones too!!!!!

That is so sweet of you Claire. My mom would have been a candidate 10-15 years ago, but at 70+ the docs don't want the risk. She's doing pretty good using another plan, for now. I think she's got her BMI under where she'd be a candidate...

Default You are hardly decrepit!

Claire, it is debatable whether you are old (as I get older, people's ages seem miraculously more youthful to me - thirtysomethings are now like babies to me ), but you are hardly decrepit - you are fabulous and inspiring to people of ANY age!!!

That is extremely nice of you. I will keep that in mind if the opportunity arises. Both my parents fought their weight in the time that I knew them. They would probably both still be here if they had the opportunity to have WLS.

Thank you for being you.
