Question to all the ladies:)
ok so i have a new fear.... ( havnt had my surgery yet, will know the date on tuesday)
the fear is that when i loose all my weight ( which is about 150lbs to be my ideal weight) the loose skin.... and mostly i am scared of hanging breasts.... i am a D right now, but I really dont want to have another surgery afterwards to do anything with my breasts.... i am just too paranoid about that...
see, i keep kind of calming myself down, that if i work out and do weight etc i should be ok, and it looks like my skin elasticity is pretty good ( runs in my family) my brother had surgery, lost the weight and does not have the skin problem... so i am hoping i will be like that too,,, but in the back of my head i have this fear about my breasts shrinking...
so i just want to see how was it for you, i mean were you concerned about it and how is it now after the weight loss... if you dont mind sharing
thank you

I said I would never have a gastric bypass, and before I had it, said I'd never have plastic surgery, and once I said I'd do that, said I'd never so the boob thing, and here I am, two weeks away from one.
You can't know where you'll be, you can't know what your body will do and you can't know how you'll feel about it. I mean, you can worry and stress all you want, but you may have better things to do with your time.
For me - with all the working out I've done, much of my body looks really good! If I'm allowed to say that myself, especially considering that I'm almost 40, so the ring around my middle has to go. I was a DD and it all left me. I'll be a C most likely - but I also breastfed for about 7 years, so that didn't help. (I was a G while nursing - that was something to see!) I just really want to get the whole package - for me. I talked to a lot of women who had their breasts fixed up, and it doesn't sound so bad. Guess I'll know this time in two weeks.
But again - it is certainly not worrying about now. Are you considering not having the surgery because your boobs might get smaller or sag - I sure hope not. That would be nuts. So put it out of your mind - you're going to go through a lot of changes. You may end up not caring at all, you may end up feeling brave, you may end up with perfectly gorgeous breasts that are untouched by your weight loss - who knows??

awww Gina, that was so sweet of you, thank you i sure hope so...
and no, I AM definitely having the surgery, i cant stand having so much fat on me... so that is out of the questions....
its just i went to a support meeting with people who had the surgery, and all the women there said they had a boob job... and so i was a bit upset afterwards thinking that i will need to do that too and i dont have any $ for it etc... worried like that... so i was talking to my mom.... and to her having anything done for your breasts is a big no-no, she is like its really dangerous, you will have more chanced of breast cancer etc... so that discouraged me even more... and if i were to go against that i know it would ruin our relationship... so i dont know, i guess i will have to just wait and see....
loosing weight right now is more important to me of course, cant wait to find out my date.... i am thinking it should be around 2 week of august

UGH!! I was a a 42DD...probably should have been wearing a 44DDD. I will honestly say that my breasts are flat and hanging loooonnnngggg. I now wear a 36D. My pre-op weight was 329lbs. They look fine in a bra, but when I take it off... . I would MUCH rather have this problem then carry around all the weight. You won't know how bad it will be till you get there...you could be one of the lucky ones!!

Look at it this way
Would you rather have some hanging skin, or be in an early grave from morbid obesity? I dropped from a 44D to a 34, somewhere between A and B. I wear a sports bra now to keep them in place, and love the freedom of not having those honking things hanging off my upper body! So they're a little saggy--I wasn't planning on going to Mardi Gras anyway...
It's a matter of perspective, you know? And I doubt your mom would disown you...no matter what you did.

I am thankful I had the gastric bypass and would choose this again anyday over having loose skin. I went from a 46DD to a 36C and yes they are hanging...but hey, thats what a bra is for. After my experience with my tummy tuck, they are going to continue to sag....no more surgery for me unless absolutely necessary. Am I totally happy having saggy boobs, nope, but its way better to live with than the 46DD heavy boobs!

A related question: What do your husbands or significant others say about them? NOT that it should matter, I'm just curious. I have a friend whose boyfriend actually told her that he had a problem with all her loose skin because it really grossed him out (Jerk). My husband is a boob man and loves mine, and while it wouldn't stop me from having the surgery if I get to that point, and I know that it absolutely would NOT affect his feelings for me, I've gotta wonder if he'd look at them and think "What the hell is that?? LOL...
(Observing once again that we really need a laughing smilie, and a whole bunch more!)
