When it rains it pours!
Just need someone to listen and a shoulder to lean on.
It's been a rough couple of weeks.
My husband and I went camping a couple of weekends ago and I backed a tree down the side of my car denting it and tearing the mirror off. $250.00 deductible and 3 points against my insurance. Which means my insurance will go up for the next three years. Finally got my car into the body shop monday night, got a rental. Tuesday morning on my way to work a truck coming at me threw up a rock and broke the windshield of the rental. Another $100.00 deductible by Friday.
Now the bad news. My husbands' father called tonight to tell us that Jerry's nephew was swimming in Lake Michigan today and with it being windy the waves were large and one took him under and he drown. They couldn't revive him. He was only 15 years old. We're still in shock. I had only met him twice in the last three years but he was a really good kid. Jerry's sister is taking it really hard. She's blaming herself for not keeping a better eye on him. We don't know all the details yet but I do know it's not her fault. I'm at a loss as what to say and how to comfort my husband and his family. We're going to make a trip down state this weekend as all the family will be coming in. Jerry's mom & dad live in Virginia. They are taking it very hard as well. I've lost both my mom & dad, but it's not the same as losing your child. She had two boys and he's the baby. Anyway, I guess I just needed to tell someone. Thanks for listening.
Sharon

Sharon, I'm so very sorry for your family's loss. I can't even imagine the pain of losing a child. I get chills every summer when I read about a drowning in Lake Michigan. We so often forget the dangers of the lake. Please know that you and your husband's family are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that you will find some kind of peace in your grief.
Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

Sharon,
My heart is just breaking for you and your family. Every day that our children make it home and in one piece is a day to thank God. I'll say prayers for peace for the family. Nobody should ever have to live through something like this.
