New Hair cut post plastics - ideas??
Oh boy. I've gone from the constant perm (since I was 14) to the smooth look (everyone asks me if I'm straightening my hair now) but here we go into the plastics - body shape will be so different...
SO what the heck do I do with my HAIR?? I'm bored with it. Thinking of doing an asymetrical, heavily layerd thing - much more perky. But that means BANGS! I haven't had bangs since I was 12! This could be ugly.
Did anyone make a major hair change? Care to share photos?
I am hoping obsessing about my hair for the next 19 days will keep my mind off my surgery....I hate surgery - why am I doing this??

Finally, a place I can comment...
Hey, baby,
Haven't chimed in on the plastics because I haven't a leg to stand on for that subject... but I can comment on the hair thing...
If you've done the curly perm thing most of your life and the smooth thing since surgery, then it just needs to be something that shakes up your image... and if layered and blunt cut is the answer, then go for it!
I say this because I've controlled the curly hair all my life, either by keeping it short or smoothing it, and there is something about my hair in a style that I've never really seen before consistently that adds to my ability to believe I'm really different, and not just a fat girl in a skinny suit. Maybe that's because we look first in the mirror at what frames our face?
Anyway, it makes a huge difference--plus it sounds like an easy-care style would be a good thing post-PS? That's a guess, though. Here's a good site for figuring out your best haircut for your face shape, including finding out what your face shape actually is. I always thought my face was round, but come to find out it's oval...

Hi Gina, I had long straight hair for the longest time....didn't want to cut it until my face thinned out a bit after surgery, cause I figured if I cut it too soon my face would look like a round ball....well the time came, my face thinned out quite a bit, so the time came to cut my hair, and bangs came along with the new hair cut....I had 7 inches cut off of my long hair, and I love it....here is a before and after pic.....I say, new body, new hair, new you....go for it girl, and try something different.....the hair makes a whole lot of difference just as the weight coming off does....good luck....Darlene

Gina,
I let my hair grow long. I felt the longer length made me feel and look more youthful. Can't wait to see what you end up choosing. You will be posting pictures n'est ce-pas?

girl, i gotta say you dont need to do anything too drastic to your hair. I am the kind of person who have to change my hair all the time. ( i do hairstyles and makeup) but you know what.... when you will be loosing weight trust me people will notice a change even if you just trip your hair lol its crazy. What i would think look nice on you is getting some bangs to the side and just keeping it nice and sleek, you might get some a bit lighter highlights just to give you a feeling dept, i can just picture that in my head, oh and from experience, if you want your hair to look like a million $ u gotta go to more expensive salon. I had my hair done at this very nice hair salon, i paid about $250, Highlights/low lights, cut and style.... but OMG how many compliments i had.... its worth it

I've become very fond of my hairstyle. Low maintenance, wind and rain do not mess it up, and I can dry my hair with a paper towel.
Then again, perhaps I should not be giving advice in this area.

I will certainly get a lot of comments!! I do have a nicely shaped head... I'll give it some thought.

I like bangs I wish my hair was this perky now tho.. Im letting it grow... so when it starts falling out.. I can get it chopped and people will notice the length and not the volume...
Cant wait to see pics of what you choose!

I'm still pre-op but I've already started growing my hair out. It's been above my shoulders for 10 years and I want to see what I look like skinny and with long hair. So...since the surgery's probably still about 4 months out, I'm starting to grow the hair now.
Can't wait to see what you decide and some pics!

Mike,
If my hair keeps falling out the way it has, I may end up with your exact hairstyle. Dry your hair with a paper towel? Hilarious!
