How do I relax!!!???
OK peeps! As you know I got a date! 7/23/07. I just have been overly excited for this. I talk about it all the time and I still have 3 weeks, and the not being able to sleep has already happened, the first day I found out about the date, that night I got maybe 2 hrs of sleep! I just want to relax and let the time get here! It is really hard, I feel overly anxious! Is this how it is! Will I relax a bit! Help! What do I need to do? Thanks!

A couple glasses of wine might help you to sleep.

Enjoy it! I think the excitement is really natural considering what the future has in store for you. You'll be able to sleep when your body needs it. In the mean time, use the extra time to day dream, plan, and just consider the possibilities. How fun!

Totally normal to feel this way. Clean, organize, sort your house. You will be very happy when you get home and don't feel like doing it. I couldn't sleep and would get up at night and read this forum.

I agree that taking something to help you sleep is probably the best thing even if it's just like a benedryl or some tylenol pm. I was definitely in need of some help with anxiety etc. right before surgery!

I'm not there yet, but
When I went for my psychlogical evaulation last week, the doctor told me to ask for anti-anxiety meds prior to and after my surgery (since I worry about everything). Just a thought...............

Wait - be careful
Don't take anything with asprin in it of course - check with your doc about anything you take to help you sleep. You don't want to find out 5 minutes before surgery that there is a problem.
Make lists (whit - I can't believe you didn't say this one)
Everything you want to do after you lose certain amount of weight. (Like after I lost 100 pounds I got a massage, 110, I got a bike etc.)
Also - just all the things you look forward to.
Everything you want to bring to the hospital
Everything you want to buy at the grocery store before surgery
Clean the house
Paint the shutters
clean out the gutters
Knit...
Just keep busy! You won't relax, but you might distract!
