Arrow Sixty Things to Do Before I'm Sixty

A year ago I watched the Ellen DeGeneras <sp?> show and she had some people on there who had made up some lists of things they wanted to do in their lives. One woman had a "Forty Things I Want To Do Before I'm Forty" I don't know how old she was, but her list was quite extensive AND Ellen helped her out on some of them...a trip on the Orient Express, A dinner at an expensive place, etc. VERY NICE!

It was after that program that I thought about what I want to do in my life. I'm way over 40, so my goal became 60. I'm 56 now...four years. Hmmm, wonder if I could do 60 things by age 60?

I set out to make a list. It was easy at first. I paid no attention to cost or if I thought I couldn't do it. I wrote down things I REALLY wanted to do! See Sweden, Stay in a REAL cabin in the mountains for a week, Travel on a steamboat down the Mississippi, see New England in the fall, see Cape Cod, Take a pro class in photography, learn sign language and many more.

I've only listed 23 so far. It's harder than you think to list your wishes. Try it. Whatever age you're coming up to....say 20 things to do before I'm 20...30 for 30...40 for 40....of course if you're 39 and want to do 40 things in a year...well, good luck!

What would you list on your "to-do" list?

Oh my gosh, this is tough, since I am 67 now!

So it's 70 thing to do before I'm 70.

I don't think I could come up with 70 things, maybe not even 20!! I have always been the kind of person that does what my heart dictates (money being the biggest issue to keep me back).

I have traveled the world.

I have been in 45 of the 52 states, and lived in 5.

I've been married three times (not real proud of that, and believe me this is the LAST).

I have children and grandchildren that I adore.

I've made wonderful friends.

I've flown in helicopters.

I've lived downtown in Chicago, 35 floors up, facing Lake Michigan.

I've had some really cute homes over the years.

What I wanted most for most of my life was to be thin for more than a few months at a time. So I guess my answer is that all 70 of my wishes are rolled up into one, and THAT IS TO REACH MY GOAL in terms of WEIGHT LOSS. That very action will give me more happy and healthy years to contemplate more outrageous things I can do!

Maybe skydiving, balloon riding, ice skating (could never do that), rock climbing, scuba diving -- uh oh, a list appears to be growing! Geez, I'll be a rock climber at the age of 100 and be in the Guinness Book of Records. LOL Hey, anything is possible!

Some of mine that I have, not on an official list, but definitely things I want to do before I die...

fly first class (anywhere)
scuba dive
go on a cruise to somewhere breath taking
finish college
watch both of my children get married and become mom's themselves

I'm sure that there are a lot more that I could come up with but those are the big ones.
