Default my wls in this monday!

It's been a while since I have been on here...but the time has come... I finally got all my of my appts and tests completed and my pre-op appt was just this past Thursday. My appt is this Monday and I am just in a daze. I can't believe this is happening. My darling mother arrived Thursday night from Alabama to help out. I have not seen her in over a year and I didn't know how bad I really missed her! I feel like a 12 year old! Anyway, I have to be at the hospital Monday morning at 5:30am. Any last minute advice from anyone out there? I am not having second thoughts about having it done. I know that this is what I need to do for myself and my family. Mainly for myself. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes this past week also! Anyway...I am not having 2nd thoughts BUT I keep feeling so much anxiety. I am so nervous. I just wanted to check in and let you all know that the time has come....thanks and hope you all are having a good day!

Kelly, it is so normal to feel like a little kid at this point...it's not in your own hands too much until you're in the healing phase! Your attitude about everything is so important right now. Enjoy the time with your mom.
About the type 2 diabetes...I was diagnosed with same a couple months before my surgery...my last round of blood tests showed my glucosomethingorother levels 'right smack dab in the middle of normal'.
Best of luck to you!

I am praying the time will go fast for you untl surgery on Monday. I clearly remember the emotions you are experiencing. It's just a combination of all sorts of feelings, like excitement it's finally time, anxiety for just wanting it over, and fear for the unknown. All normal but you have to deal with them no matter. As everyone always advises, stay busy. Clean, sort, declutter kitchen cabinets etc. Gather small bowls, measuring cups and spoons for use. Get blender (or whatever you'll use) cleaned and out on the counter. Arrange your clear liquids by color, or alphabetize them! hehe Pack a picture of family, someone on this board mentioned that and it was wonderful. I looked at it in the hospital to remind me of all the reasons I have to live a healthy life. Before you know, it will be Monday, and it will go by in a blur. We will be waiting to hear from you. My prayers to you are for an easy, uncomplicated surgery and recovery. See you on the loser's bench!
