Snorkling is a must! We really enjoyed the Polynesian Cultural Center. I have heard the Arizona Memorial is a must see but we were on limited time. I found out that you had to go early and buy your tickets for later that day. Maybe it has changed. Have a wonderful trip my hot friend!!!

We've been to Oahu 4 times now and absolutely love it. We usually stay in the North Shore at the Turtle Bay Resort. They have a lovely spa and I had the best facial ever there! It's the only hotel around the area and is beautiful. It's not touristy at all, but if you want to drive to Waikiki it's about 40 minutes away and a beautiful drive. Just north of the North Shore is the famous shrimp truck called "Giavanni's"...Fresh shrimp cooked in lots of garlic! They make it there in the truck and have picnic tables to eat on. Let's see...There's the Polynesian Cultural Center, that's fun. Not far from the cultural center is a coffee plantation. It was a bit touristy with busloads of people being brought in...but we just hung out there for awhile sampling all the coffee and taking some pretty pictures. Snorkeling in Hanauma Bay was beautiful! The Dole Pineapple Plantation was fun, but a little touristy. (They do have the best prices though on Hawaiian quilts..I have 4 of them!) If you want to cool off and feel like you are 16 again....don't miss the water park that is back towards Honolulu. Our whole family had a blast there and have gone back each time! There's also the sealife park....nothing like Seaworld, but it's where the movie 50 First Dates was filmed and is fun to play with the dolphins for an extra charge. Those are my favorites...Have fun!

One more thing...If you are staying in Waikiki, stay at the Hawaiian Hilton Village. There's a great beach right there! We had stayed in the Rainbow Tower and had a balcony that faced the water. BEAUTIFUL!!

Well on Oahu there is sooo much to do. Our favorite place is Haunama bay. I think it is closed Mondays or Tuesdays can remember but research it first. It used to be a volcano but one side was washed out by water and now it is a great snorkeling site!!! It is great just to go for the day the fish will litterally eat out of your hands. We always stop at the grocery store and buy some frozen veggies, like peas or corn. It is a wonderful beautiful place. Our favorite!!! We like Wiamaea Falls also and just watching the sunset on Waikiki beach!

Sorry - no Oahu suggestions. If you were going to Maui, I would personally volunteer to be your tour guide I will be on Maui in October. Have a wonderful time in Paradise, love!

This is a great thread! Mrs Squishy and I are going to Oahu at the end of October! We've never taken an actual vacation before and never really had a honeymoon, so we are extremely excited about the trip (especially because we have about 5 months to lose weight before we go. We'll be able to get twice as many clothes in a suitcase. Ha Ha!)

I'm printing this thread for future reference!
Thanks all,
-Mike-

Kona is nice, but be prepared it is the DRY island. Or at least more then I expected.

My MIL lived there for 10 years. We went once, (but 3 kids in those ten years will stop ya from going..LOL) But we had a lot of fun. It was nice to drive the island. There isnt a lot of shopping on that island. The volocano is very interesting, and a good hike if you like that sort of thing. There is also this thing you can do that you can take a rafting ride down the old pipes they used to get water to the plantations. If you need anything else let me know and I will ask my MIL, her DH is a native hawaiian, and just spent the last year living and working on Ohau, too. So I can ask him as well, and I am sure he can recomend some things off the beaten path.
Oh one thing when we did the island hopper to Ohau, I loved that island, is there is this beach bar called Dukes, it was a lot of fun, and way yummy drinks! Like everyone said Pearl Harbor is a must see. We also drove up to the north shore and on our way down we found the coolest beach and it was totally empty. No waves, it was so pretty. We sat there forever that day. SO I totally recomend renting a car and driving around a little too!

We are going back to the big island in Aug.
