Default What I learned on my trip to Toronto

As you may have read in other posts, I had to make a flash trip to Toronto to have a lesson with my conducting Guru (whole other story) but had to do it all in about 36 hours. It is a 7 hour drive to Toronto but I stopped in Buffolo Thursday night. This is what I learned:

1. Whitney is every bit as gorgeous, sweet and funny in person (more so really) than she appears on TT. She has the tiniest little waist, most beautiful smile and is an amazing person in every way.

2. Two post-opers can split a sandwich and still have left overs, even if they're both quite full.

3. Waiters really don't get that you don't want anything to drink - even in Buffalo.

4. Taking photos of yourself with a sidekick is not easy, but does provide many laughs.

5. When your directions are wrong, there is nothing in Toronto to help you find the University of Toronto. You may want a GPS.

6. I don't speak metric. I have no idea how much gas I put in my car ($55.00 CAN, but it was only 1.06 per litre - sounds better than 3.18 per gallon, but who knows!) I have no idea how hot is was, or how long it takes to get from the border to Toronto because I started dividing hours by the same amount I was divideing kilometers from miles...

7. There are an amazing number of bugs out there and most of them are now plastered to the front of my car.

8. Deer can cause heart palpitations.

9. 1:43 a.m. is very late to be driving - you could be so tired you drive by your own driveway...

But I made it home, safe and sound. And I missed Jen - drove right by you sweetie. Next time! Actually the drive isn't bad at all - I'd do it any time.

Thanks again Whitney - wish I could have gone without any sleep. I did actually study for a while after you left too! We'll do it again over the summer - I promise. And I hope you never get mad at me - or that if you do, there are not shotguns around.
