I've been careful about taking my protein all week, so I'm sharp as a tack. Big difference from the fog I live in when I don't have enough protein on board.

http://www.mtfeinformation.org/

I filled out the information and had a message that said I would be contacted within the next 48 hours to let me know "if this service is available in your location" We shall see what they have to say.
No need to eat your words, but if you do I bet the are very low in calories and reduced fat

thanks for the info. I too went on and filled out the info form, so now we will wait and see. But i am going to mention it to the surgeon when i see him may 11. It is a really cool thing that there are nurses and doctors on this form. I don't count yet as I am only a Nursing student who works as a CNA in a nursing home...... God bless my little old people who have more spunk than the most of us

You're welcome, Susie. I'm going to be interested in what kind of response all of you get who filled out the form. This is something I may have to talk over with my plastic surgeon. He is the plastic surgeon the Burn Center refers all of the face and hand grafts to. He also does a big part of the recontructive work on our past patients. I'll just be curious what he thinks of all of this and if he knows anything about it.

Well this was my response to the request,

Hi David,

Thank you so much for you interest in our Living Skin Donor Program
following weight loss. Our program offers patients the opportunity to
donate their excess skin after surgery. Your donation can help many
people in need of hernia repairs, bladder repair, reconstructive surgery
after mastectomy, etc... MTF cannot offer to pay for your surgery, or
any part of your surgery following the National Organ Tranplant Act
(NOTA). Payment for any part of your surgery would be considered buying
an organ which is illegal. I would be happy to speak to you about the
process and answer any questions you may have. If you would like I can
mail you information about our program, just be sure to respond back
with your address. If you would like to contact me I can be reached at
800-946-9008 ext 4068 or email colleen_campanella@mtf.org.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Colleen Campanella Kenny
Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation
Surgical Donation Director

I hope this helps
