Default Bought a new car! + Other Goodness

My boyfriend and I are now the proud new owner's of a black Prius! Tan leather interior, navigation, all the bells and whistles - she's one sexy and smart mama that we call 'Elle' (long story!). I'm just bursting with excitement and had to share it with everyone for a couple of reasons:

1. This is the first "nice" car either of us has bought and completely on our own, and,
2. I was able to make a decision about what car I wanted based solely on features, options, mileage, etc without a SINGLE CONCERN over whether or not I was going to be able to fit behind the wheel, buckle the seat belt, anything like that.

It just really hit me this morning how much has changed over the last 14 months, especially after we took the new car out tooling around running errands, etc. Not once did I ever think, "Can I get out of the car? Is the door going to scrape the curb because my weight is making it lean so much? Can I buckle my seat belt? Is the steering wheel going to hit my stomach?" And to carry it further, I never once thought about shopping, walking, hauling, or jumping around in general.

Plus (here's the other goodness) - I just put on my first pair of (drumroll, please) SIZE 12 JEANS!!!

It's days like these, that, even though there are a lot of depressing, frustrating days still - life is better than it ever has been.

Oooooooh a Prius..... if Shawn and I were to get rid of our Matrix for any vehicle, it would be a Prius. They're one heck of an aweome car. Congrats on the purchase! You'll love it to pieces. Isn't the gear shift in a funky place?

As for the jeans, congrats on those as well.

*doing the happy dance*

*hugs*

Okay, this is definitely the thing that funks me out about the car, but I'll get used to it! First of all, there's just a push button to turn on the car, and the gear shift is a tiny pinball-type knob next to the steering wheel. It kind of feels like you're turning on a go-kart! hehe

Lori - you will LOVE LOVE LOVE this car!!!

I'm like a shill for Toyota now - I don't even drive the car every day (we bought it to replace my boyfriend's mustang convertible) and I can't stop talking about it!

Wow Amanda. What a great feeling I bet that was. Congrats on the new car and the new pants size. Ok I know I am going to sound silly for asking but what is a Prius? You gotta take pics. I am so happy for you Amanda.
