I also agree - It makes you look even younger - brings a softness to your face. And I bet it's a lot easier to take care of -

Default Thanks!

Thanks Debbie, Jennifer, Kevin, that's so sweet...

A friend of mine who was a fashion consultant told me that most people get "stuck" in terms of the way they dress and wear their hair at the time of life that they felt best about themselves looks-wise. I've kept the straight, short hair since I was nineteen years old and entered the military.

Now that I've started to feel better about myself, I really want to change my overall look to someone I've never been before, confident, uninterested in fashion trends, just plan to look my best. Plus, it IS quite a bit easier to take care of. Now it's just a little gel, scrunch a bit to get it to look vaguely uniform, and go! No blow dryer umbilical cord to lug around...

Default Tried several new things lately....

I have been trying quite a few new things lately. I, like many others have noted, have started tanning. My skin tone is pasty white, the kind that looks like I have been dead.. say... 6 months. So I'm tanning to get to a healthier shade of white, maybe even a little tan. With my skin tone I will never be very tan, but I do tan a bit, so I can wear a skirt or shorts without blinding people.

The other big thing I have tried is Kayaking. I tried it for the first time Sunday. We actually went out sunday morning and bought kayaks and went out on the lake here to try it out. I was nerve racking but very fun. Not to mention a pretty good arm workout.

The whole clothes thing... well that's a definite adjustment for me. Its been so long since I've worn something that fit my body, I have to have a second opinion before buying anything because I can't tell if it's too tight, or it fits and I'm just not used to it.

And today for the first time I can remember, I can actually cross my legs under my desk - so I guess that's new too. lol

I wear high heels A LOT! And am looking forward to going snow skiing for the first time next winter and if I can find a flattering bathing suit this summer I want to get on a jet ski. Never done that.

I wear high heels a lot too - I used to only wear them to dress up. I wear makeup all the time and am dressed whenever I go anywhere whereas before I would throw on sweats and flip flops and go because I just didn't care. I have always done the facial/masage thing, and have done the nails/pedi thing since I was 15 (that is almost 100 years ago folks!), but I generally am more fashion sensitive and into looking go whenever I go out...anywhere.

I treat myself to fun things too like trying new things like horseback riding or trying the rick climbing gym - I enjoy doing now rather that watching.

I've done that! It is expensive and wierd, but I really like feeling good about how my smile looks now.
