Default New Job alert!!

I was going to save this for N county support grp but realized I am going to be @ the Padre game this Tues. /Cry I was totally looking forward to seein my peeps too.

Sometimes opportunities just fall in to your lap. I wasn't actively searching for a new job or anything although those of you that know me well know that I would often openly whine about the hardships of working in a call center. (its not *really* that bad)

As usual, my auto insurance payment was late so I had to actually walk it in to the office. After months of scraping by with just liability on my vehicle I decided to bite the bullet and ante up with full coverage. It is, after all, part of the lienholder contract.

So I was having a conversation with my agent and the most faboo opportunity just fell in to my lap. He offered me a position with his office. This is going to be long term fabulousness as I will write strictly for California which will present new challenges and diversity in the products and product lines that I will be offering.

Once we got the benefits hammered out we realized that this is an overall great fit. The other two people that work in the office seem to have the same work ethic and the same demeanor that I have.

The commute is way better too. 4.5 miles as opposed to 13. (thats one way) I guess the most exciting thing is change. Just the fact that I will be in a smaller office where people come to me intentionally, because they already know about the product or service not because they want a free $20.

I owe so much to my current employer and feel heavy hearted to leave them. I feel that they gave me my life back with the surgery and all of the benefits, compassion and the understanding.

This is a risk, I am giving up a lot. I won't have the FMLA to fall back on when that cruddy post GBS morning sickness hits me. Though, having access to the bathroom any time I need will certainly help with that.

I am excited, scared, and optimistic. This is an opportunity for change. And though it is a big risk I have to tell myself that insurance is all about risk and darnit, I am worth it!

Default Sometimes change is good....

Tammy,

Sometimes change is good and it is hard to go out of our comfort zones. You are just opening the door to bigger and better things. Don't look back......you deserve it. Congrats...on the new job. I am soooo happy for you.
