Let's play wedding planner!
Can anyone tell me what an appropriate amount would be to spend on bridesmaid and usher gifts? To give you an idea, it will be an "informal", morning wedding. (It's called informal even though we are having the entire choir, 2 organists, a string quartet and a brass quartet! Can you tell I'm marrying a classical musician?)
The ladies are not wearing some horrible dress; I told them to get themselves a nice suit (skirted), preferably in Fall colors. I told them to think of chrysanthemums, those colors. The men (including the groom) are not wearing tuxes, just suits. (My outfit is still up in the air as I just had GBS! Probably a studded, beaded, sparkly white suit as well.)
No one has to fly, get a hotel, etc., so they're not having to spend a lot of money.
I went mall-walking today- it was 56! I saw some lovely things at a Royal Doulton outlet store that would be lovely for the bridesmaids, but I'm not sure what to spend! Oh, and needless to say, at our age we are footing the entire bill!

I would look online at some wedding sites and see what the norm is. I would say at least a $100 gift. That is just me!

Brides maid party - jewelry boxes. Nice small ones. You can get them on line engraved with their initials or something.
Groomsmen, or male party - flask, or traveling bar kit. They are just fun. Or something personalized like letter openers, depending on their job of course.

Cee Cee
First congrats....wow you have so much going on.... Only you know your friends.....and they inturn know you....Maybe I am frumpy, old, or cheap...whatever you wanna call me...but I don't think you should go into debt...You can find great gifts at outlet stores....I won't suggest a gift because I don't know your friends likes/dislikes or hobbies... I am sure if you continue window shopping something will pop out at you...I don't even think the guys gifts have to match each others....just follow your heart.

Wedding Gifts
I agree, first WooHoo on the wedding! Second I have been in several weddings (too many to count actually) The best gift I ever got, and still wear, a simple diamond on a slim silver chain, it was in a nice box and then that was placed in a box with a single red rose. It was my best friends wedding and I helped her pick them out. She spent about $50.00 on each one, there were only 3 of us so it wasn't bad. Her husband got his 3 ushers an old fashioned looking gas pump that you can put alchool in (about $20.00 now) she then had them engraved at Things Remembered for about $10.00 each. They are something all of us still have, use, or wear.
Again, Congrats! and don't forget, for a dress, go sexy girl!! You will be a skinny, good looking bride and you deserve low cut, rhinestones, and glitter!!

Hey CeeCee. I am not sure how much I would spend on Gifts for my Bridesmaids, but I just happen to make Bridesmaids gifts. I make custom jewelry. I use genuine Swarovski crystals and I make them with the colors and style of your wedding. Check out my website, I can customize anything, bracelets, charm bracelets, or anklets with matching earrings! Good luck on your decision and congratulations!!

Check out The Palm Gifts online. They have some really cute, unique items that would be great for bridesmaids gifts.

I gave each of my bridesmaids a necklace. My colors were navy, wine and forest green. So I got a ruby for one, a saphire for one and an emerald for the third one. They matched the dresses that they were wearing and they were all the same heart shape.
