OT: Silent auction
Hey guys, I am working on a project with my son's school and it ssomething I have never done before. So I am looking for advice, tips or anyway any of you may be able to help or places you could direct me to.
We are having a fundraiser for my son's school, he goes to a charter school ( to do anything we have to fundraise, we even have to raise our own funds to hire teachers) and we are planning on having a dressy dinner and silent auction. I have some ideas on who to contact for donations, ie SD Chargers, Sea World... and I dont know if any of you work for or know where or who I could contact about donations, know of any generous corporations... any advice would be appreciated. Im not sure if any of you out there has had to do anything like this before so I would appreciate any feedback. Or if any of you have anything, or any service you would be willing to donate for the auction that would be appreciated as well... just help me my pointing me in the right direction. Thanks!

I won a computer off of the radio that was donated by TIG Technology. They donate one to each winners school also. Maybe they would be a good company to contact. Also try restaurants and stores.. Gift certificates are often donated for things like this.

Last year I helped my parents 4 wheel group doing a fundraiser for family's in need. We went to Fry's, oil changing places and they were a lot of help. We asked to speak with the manager and got a few things. I'm not sure if that helps but that's a start.

She is right about fry's being good about this type of thing. They donated a lot of stuff to the radio stations for the braking and entering christmas. It is a huge tax right off for them. Try best buy and some others also.

Bridget,
Don't forget the beauty parlors close to the school. They are pretty good about offering a free haircut, manicure, etc....

I'm not sure if this would help, but, when John had his race car, for 15 years they did this, and they needed sponsors, they'd go to a LOT of the smaller companies. They had a lot of, sorry, restaurants as sponsors, they love racing, so they want to get the free advertisements lol
I don't know if you want to do that or not, but, it's a thought for you!
My son teaches at one of the same kinds of schools in Florida. He's only been there a couple months and they haven't done anything like this yet, but, I'll ask him if he's heard anything as to what they do to raise money for such things...
Good luck girl, and you did a fanTAStic job last night, you and Pam are a good team!! Thank you Pam for having us all there in your beautiful home! I LOVE your own personal parking lot!
