The purpose of WLS is to develop healthy lifestyles, not remain a slave to the useless cycle of pills and diets. Diet pills are unhealthy and diet pills cause your body to produce fat cells....so she is setting hersel up for failure. The honeymoon period in the first 18-24 months is designed to help you modify your behavior for a lifetime of results...not just a few years. It's to help you learn how to cope with your fears and find alternate ways to maintain your weight.

We already know....PILLS DON't WORK.

I hope your friend finds a better outlet then the diet pills she is depending on. Becoming dependent on diet pills can lead her down a dangerous road.

GBS is a life-long tool available to assist one in modifying thier habits - its not a quick fix that works on auto-pilot. Folks still have to particpate by managing thier own life style choices.

So true in all you have said....but, she told me that the reason for diet pills was to control the urge to over eat..and I get your point about this being a tool..Just wondering if she told her doctor that she is doing this...I bet not.
I'm just scared for her and wish she would reconcider her choice of better judgement...
I thought as I have told her that this surgery was the purpose of not relying on pills this is why most do this surgery to learn new ways to control...because they failed on diets (or didnt have the will power) when using diet aids....
Maybe smething will teach her that this wasnt the right choice and to have control and the power to do the right thing....
