How's it going? I just read another post by you about your ordeal with dehydration so I will have to remember to keep drinking. I finally had my surgery on Monday - 11/24/08!! I got over being upset with Dr, Hahn for having my file on his desk for 3 months, when I met with him again for my pre-op appt. He really is adorable and I totally trust him. My surgery was more complicated and took 4 hours. He estimated at least 3.5 so was pretty much on target. He had to undo a 3 part procedure that I had done 12 years ago, which was a bear to recover from, even though it was LAP, so I was sure this one would be as bad. And of course he wasn't sure he could do a LAP, but he did it and I am doing amazingly well. I'm almost over my soreness and am eating, drinking and taking my supplements as prescribed because I don't want to have any problems if I can help it. I'm off to take a shower and go for a walk! Congratulations! It sounds like you're doing very, very well. I'm so glad Dr. Hahn was able to do your surgery -- I remain a big fan of his Keep up the excellent work, and please continue to let us know how you're doing!

I just looked at this area of the website today....I had my surgery in So Cal almost 4 years ago... I was able to meet a group of the San Diego gals 3 weeks before my surgery - a lot of them don't log on much anymore. Jeanie is one and she's great ~ they are all great, wish we had a support group here. Let me know if anyone is interested!

Howdy everyone !!!! i just found this site. Dunno what I was doing, but anyway..... I think it would be wonderful to have a support group for the Bay Area folks.

I was born in Alameda, grew up in Fremont, moved to Manteca 11 yrs ago, and I work in Dublin. I am always in the Bay Area. Have family still in Fremont, Sister is in San Jose.

I am going through the program at Fremont Kaiser, and Dr. Christine Chu is my Surgeon.

hey Mandy I am in Manteca also and work in pleasanton! I had my RNY in june so about 8 weeks post op right now. My friend is going thru the kaiser program right now(she has to lose the 20%) what stage are you at? have you found any groups out here?

hi all;

I am from LA, then bay area (Fremont), then Antioch, now Tracy. Worked in city for many many years (bart bart bart...LOL) now work in Modesto but have lots of family and friends in south bay and the city.

my surgery is scheduled on 11/19 (3 days). whew....
