Umm, the last time I checked, there were already two SoCal support groups. There is the gold standard of groups that meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Rain's, and also another group in central San Diego on the 3rd Tuesday of the month that meets at my house. The 3rd Tuesday was specifically chosen to accommodate people who might want to go to both groups (or not available on the 2nd Tuesday). Additionally, Dr. Callery's office also offers monthly groups.

If there are so many people who for whatever reasons are not able or interested in attending any of these opportunities, perhaps it's the actual groups that need tweaking.

I think Rain's groups are fantastic and always well attended. Rain, if you are being asked to host another group, maybe folks would be happier going to your house (or a coffeehouse) some other time during the month, and eliminate the 3rd Tuesday group altogether. Attendance at the central San Diego group has never been as high as the one at Rain's--perhaps more people would be better served by Rain hosting 2 groups? I have no ego about 'group ownership', and if people don't want to (or can't) come to the 3rd Tuesday of the month meeting, then they should definitely have a place to go to get the support they need.

I'm fond of the little group that has developed on the 3rd Tuesday, and I feel like we give each other great support. We are always ready to welcome others, but I am also willing to stop offering my home for an organized meeting if the desire isn't there. I'm sure our little core could find a way to meet for support, whether it is 'official' or not.

Think about it, pm about it, decide what y'all want to do, and let me know so we have an idea about whether we should clean the house or not!
