Need to find surgeon for RNY Reversal - ThinnerTimes - Gastric Bypass Forum, Lap Band Forum, and Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy Forum

Hi all.

I'm new here, but had my RNY done in 2002.

I've had so many complications in the last 5 years. I finally decided to go after a reversal. I found a surgoen in Arizona who submitted my paperwork to insurance for approval.

However, I've since read a lot of bad things about him, and am now worried about using him.

I'd like to know who your surgeons were for your reversals of RNY. Where are they located? How did you do after your reversal? Complications?

Please, any and all help is so appreciated.

I don't have any recommendations for surgeons, but look for onastartrek. I think that's how she spells her user name. She had a reversal done not that long ago, I don't think, and was really happy with her surgeon and the whole process.

Hi there. First, I am sorry you have had so many complications.

Second, I have no idea where you live, but my surgeon is the "go-to" guy here, in Dayton Ohio. He is who people with complications go to to revise or repair them. His name is Dr. John Maguire at Premiere Bariatrics at Miami Valley Hospital.

I thank God that I never had any revisions performed and instead had the reversal. I'm 10 years out and I'm the healthiest I've been since the original weight loss surgery.
It took time to get here. Even though I had my old stomach it took a few months for it took a few to get kick started and get used to moving my food through and into my intestines. I still have some nausea NO VOMITING and while I never had the Band that is basically how my stomach is now. My reversal surgeon made an opening from my pouch and into my old stomach. I get full quickly and still must chew food well enough but its no biggie.
I hope and pray you get to have the reversal your body is crying out for. the sooner the better

I don't anyone who's had a reversal but I'm pretty sure my surgeon, Shawn Garber, here on Long Island in NY does reversals. If you're interested, check out his website. He's the best here and I highly recommend him.

Hi, I talked to Dr. Goodman in NY about a reversal and he is very nice and helpful. You should call or email him. He didn't know me but responded to me in less than 24 hours.

I am in AZ and have worked in the medical field for over 12 years PM me his name and i can tell you what I know about him. Also are you in AZ or what location are you in?
