I am just curious Paige, how tall are you, and what co-morbidities did you have that a surgeon would even approve you @ 213. I present this question with the utmost respect. It just seems to me like 213 is WAY too low to even be considered for this surgery.

You are correct
I was not heavy enough to have the surgery it was a huge mistake.
I orignally went to the surgeon to takedown my gastric stapling and banding from 1990 that had ruptured about 2 years before. He suggested that instead of taking it out, since I had gained back all my weight, I should have a revision to this much better surgery. He WAY glossed over the major differences in the procedure and effects it can have on your body. My first surgery was so successful and complication free that I did very little research. Just the normal...read all the great reviews on a few docs websites.
Huge mistake on my part.... huge. This surgery has a component that I had no idea was so harmful the the body, that being malabsorbtion. For a person with the much smaller amount of weight to lose , this can be a very dangerous thing. As Dyann explained, it takes the body 18ish months to adjust to the new plumbing and theres just not enough fat there to go around and keep me at a safe weight.
I would definately NOT do this again. That issue alone is enough to be worrisome but now I have additiional complications...it's all just a little to much for me.
Thanks for asking.....
I see form yoru stats that you have hit a plateu.... Now is where the hard work begins... using your tool when your body has adjusted. Best of luck to you, I wish you ever success.

Wow. Have you considered a malpractice suit? I think your surgeon did a HUGE HUGE disservice to you.
I have hit a huge plateau but have maintained it well. Fortunately my body shape is still decreasing. Although, being 2 months pregnant it is going to start increasing lol.
My goal is to maintain through my pregnancy and not gain more than 15 lbs. I know I can be successful with this tool.
I would seriously consider legal advice Paige. Your surgeon honestly should have known better.

Nope
He didn't make me do it... the responsibility was on me to know what I was getting myself into.
The surgery he did was good, anantomically everythign is right, it's just that my body can't handle it, it happens sometimes.
I made a chioce not only the have the surgery but to do so without questioning or diligent research.... that's totally on me!
Appreciate your concern... Wish you the best with your pregnancy...be careful the baby gets what it needs!

Slow down!
I wasn't dissing her decision. Cleary if you have co-morbidities and are very short in stature then carrying 216 lbs can be very debilitating. Janina (Witticism) is just a tiny petite little thing and had very low weight pre-op (by most MO statndards. For her it was no bueno tho.) However, this was an amazing transformation for her. I'm not saying that you have to be part of the 300+ club to "qualify."
I was simply inquiring as to what additional co morbities may have been present for the surgeon to not question as to whether his referral was valid.
For all I know Paige could be 4'9 and a perfect candidate. I don't think she ever mentioned her height. If she did I missed it.
Sadly, there are a lot of surgeons in RnY for the money and not for the health and well being of the patient. I'm not saying hers was nor was I insulting her choices.
If GBS was the solution for you, GOOD! No one was insulting your decisions or or starting weight. We aren't like that here.

Update
Hi Friends,
I'm feeling better each day from the reversal. I'm not sure yet (still on pain meds) what my problems are going to be. I know I've cleared up the severe reflux, still have it but nothing like I did. That in itself is progress for having reversal. I'm just not sure yet what my long term problems will be, but hoping for none. I am able to maintain my weight now as well. I can stay at 135 without effort. I know I'm going to have to watch my weight, and that is an indication, as I'm not eating tons of food. I'm going to have to retrain myself to eat differently as well. I'm gonna join WW but like Paige said they look at you freaky when you want to join and you look like you need to gain about 15 lbs. So anyway I'm dealing with post surgical blues and bored and wanting to get back to work. Janie

Thanks for the update Janie. I'm glad you're having success keeping a healthy weight. Hope the issues with the reflux get resolved soon.

I'm so pleased for you that the heart-wrenching decision you had to make has paid off with increased health and well being. You deserve it and so much more! I'm also very happy to see you on the forum--I think of you often and hope you are doing well. As for the stink eye looks at the WW meetings, just remind them that it's Weight Watchers and not Weight Losers....you want to watch your weight so it doesn't get away from you, right?
