Mike thanks for the well wishes I need them. Jen it is torture waiting now.. I wish I could be on the healing side of it myself right now! I have been on the internet researching it still and I was able to talk to two women who had reversals (take downs) as they call them on the web. Both are doing fine, and had similar complications as I. They have assured me both of them I am going to be fine, and I'm going into the surgery healthy. I am healthy for all intents and purposes I am only about 10 lbs underweight, am not vitamin deficient at least on labs, am hydrated. They also said once I start to absorb again I will feel much better than I do now. So I have a lot of good to look forward too. Give me the morphine and let's roll! Janie

Don't let that website scare you. You need to come to peace with your decision just like you did your GBP. We wish you the best of luck and hope this takes care of the symptoms you are having. Hopefully you will be posting wow moments of how your life is back to the way you want it to be.

good advise
Thanks I agree not to be looking into too much on the web. I mainly wanted to talk to a few live people who had them. I probably could have gotten them from Paige, but I was bored at work LOL. I am at peace with my decision, and I can't wait to be posting about those wow moments of how well I will start feeling. Janie

8 days!
I'm 8 days away from having this reversed! I cannot tell you how much I want this over with. The pain levels are unbelievable.. and as symptoms and pain levels are increasingly getting worse I know in my heart this is my only option to fix myself. I did all pre op check in stuff today.. along with last minute blood work, EKG, and chest xray. Everything is in place. I just need to be brave and show up!
I was also able to talk with a lady who had her GBS reversed 4 weeks ago from the surgeon who is performing mine. She was a lot more sick than I am going into a reversal only because she was six yrs and I'm two yrs post op. She is doing tremendously well after just four short weeks. I am encouraged by her recovery that mine should go much more smoothly than hers did. I am seriously looking forward to getting my life back, and resuming better health.

Janie, I'm glad you posted today. I have been wondering how you've been. I pray that you have the courage and strength to go forward 8 days from now and that you will have a smooth recovery! I would think that seeing and being able to talk with her was probably a huge relief.

I've been thinking about you, Janie, as my surgery date nears also. I wish you an easy surgery and a return to wellness. Living with nonstop pain is not living. All the best to you!

Donna,
What are you having surgery for? Sorry if I've been remiss in paying attention!
Hope you are well and you have a speedy recovery as well.

You'll be plenty brave enough. Pain can push us to do things we thought were impossible.
I'm so happy to read about this other woman's experience. I would assume you should expect to feel awful for a while though. Just that surgery thing. But we've had some good news on this board lately, so I'll keep everything crossed for you.
Thanks for posting - we're all thinking about you!!

Thanks for asking, Janie, er, I mean Paige. I'm hoping that it's much less intense than your surgery. I'm having my 3rd back surgery on 9-4, they'll be taking out my rods and screws in an attempt to ameliorate my constant pain. I remember your date because mine is 2 days before yours. I'll be sending you my "analgesed" energy every time I push the pca I will hope for a hassle free, completely comfortable recovery from your take down. My heart goes out to you--as big as any surgery is, and as many things that can happen, when we get to the state that we are looking forward to the surgery, that's pretty bad. I so want you to be well! I would like a life with at least minimal pain!
How long do they say you will have to be in the hosp? Please have Paige or someone else post on your condition, okay? I'll be thinking of you!
