Update:

I ended up in the hospital a week ago with a possible bowel blockage. I had not been able to evacuate for almost a week despite massive amounts of laxatives. I could hear it rumbling around but nothing would come out. That is the most painful thing I've been through twice now! After GI doc looked at me and told me to go next door to the hospital. After my nuclear experience and it was not a blockage I was sent home to get cleaned out. Now why is this any different, when I was in the ER the nurse gave me Reglan in my IV and the minute she gave me the medication I felt this gurgling in my lower bowel that had felt like it was asleep for a week! And then it clicked that the bariatric doc had taken me off reglan about ten days prior to this happening, and as soon as I was on it for about eight hours I was evacuating normally again! Oh and the vomiting and nausea that had returned during this period of time wasn't the flu but reglan keeping that under control as well. Guess I should buy stock! Janie

Janie, just take care, sorry that you are still suffering so much. THe time will come where you will be able to be pain free, where your GI system will start to work again. You will need to ask your bariatic specialist what can you take long term to avoid the blockage, being able to control the rest of the symptoms.
We all wish you that you will soon see the end of the tunnel.
All the best

thats something. I'm glad you posted just now about the reglan. Nothing to do with GBS but my 2 year old daughter who has a G tube because she doesnt eat enough is on Reglan and sometimes I wonder if its even working but it is i was in denial. So thank you for sharing this experience it helped me understand how important my daughters medication is to her "movement" she has a slow motility problem too thanks and i sincerely hope you are doing better

Deborah, and Marine.. I appreciate your posts, the support is tremendous and important to me. I was in denial too about the reglan and it is the key to my motility. It gets so painful when it slows down. So I'm glad that my post could help you with your daughter even though like you said it wasn't GBS related. Good luck with you I'm sure it's tough having a child of that age sick and having to deal with all that comes with caring for her. God bless you Janie

Janie is dead evidently. She now goes by Suzy. A little suspicious if you ask me.

Duckie I went by Janie which is my nick name.. and my real name is Suzy. I really don't owe you an explanation, those "friends" I have here already know my real name. So go on staying suspicious I really don't care I have bigger fish to fry than this........

Laura,

My problems are resolving themselves slowly and little by little. I have had major problems with my bowel shutting down. Not constipation just plain won't release what I have in there. It's painful when it happens but I'm finding the past four days I've gotten some of the motility back in that area.
I'm hoping it continues to go this way. I'm on less meds and really feel like I'm going to pull out of this whole mess with minimal problems in the end. I have a slight stamina problem and find my energy level is still pretty low. I am going to be with Paige when she has her reversal in February.. and I sure do wish you well with yours. It's a grueling surgery but one I'm glad I did now. Suzy

Those types of posts are very inflamatory. I know you aware there are side issues oing on involving Janie but they egan off the board and belong off the board.... Eitherway to come here to a support thread and dust up stuff is just not very nice....

If you have something ot say aobut Janie/Suzy and the name she is using then starta thread on that topic.... or address it to her in a PM.

Paige

Paige, Thanks for the continued support. You have to consider the source, after all she is one of the people who thought it was OK to belittle someone on the board without cause just because they don't like them and think they are a "pompous ass" as she posted in one of the threads. I don't have any friends like her in my life for obvious reasons and you are right to come and dust up shit like this on a support thread well I'm going to just say one word for Duckie... you are a loser! One last thing.. Duckie do me a favor and click ignore OK? LOL Suzy
