Janie, I know you can do this and I'm thrilled that you are seeing some improvement. Every step forward counts, sweetie! I'm really so very proud of you and the strength and resilience you have shown. I also respect the fact that you recognize that you need additional help and have taken the steps to get it. Because of that I know you will keep getting better.

Thanks Beth, I will continue to get help, and I know I will get through this. I've just come to realize how I'm suffering with my mental health and I've neglected it while I focused on my physical health because it was so precarious. Now I can let the body keep healing and work on the mind. I need to get out and be among people. Janie

Janie, Darlin,
You and I sound like we are coming from similar places. We will continue to get stronger and we will overcome this! I'm rooting for you, Sweetie!

Laura and Donna, Thanks for your support.. I will climb out of this abyss. It took 2 yrs in the making so what the hell. I went off my pain patch yesterday cold turkey and by bedtime my skin was crawling and I could not lay still and tossed and turned for almost two hours until I just put one on. I'm going to talk to pain doc about weaning me seems a little more reasonable than trying to cold turkey it. Janie

OMG, Janie,
You cannot just cold turkey the patch. There is some mighty powerful medication in there that is extremely addictive. You absolutely MUST wean down. They have patches in 25, 50, 75. Whatever level you are taking, they should take you down a notch for like a month at a time. That's serious stuff you're playing with, and I can only imagine the heebies and jeebies you must have felt! Quit trying to be a hero--it's only hurting you, and no one, especially anyone who knows about these meds, thinks less of you for needing to take it slow.
