Thanks for writing up the CT findings. Phew! So glad that you are "only" growing a seroma. A competent surgeon would attempt to draw off the fluid. Mine did for 3 weeks every 3 days, and I still got a softball sized one. The problem with them is that they get encapsulated with scar tissue and they take up a lot of room in our abdominal cavity. But at least there is no free air or free fluid. The collection of fluid for the seroma can put pressure on sensitive new digestive systems, so it isn't a wonderful thing, but it's not nearly as deadly as a perforated bowel. So glad! I've been wondering all day how you are doing.

I'm glad you have found a way to get the care you need without having to see Dr. A. Rrogant....

I woke up this morning and my wound had sprung a leak bad. Now I know what the fluid on the ct scan was. So my surgeon didn't give a s%^&* anyway.. but my dad was pissed at the fact I made five phone calls and none of them were returned by the doctor yesterday. So before work he put me in the car and said we are going over there or to ER one or the other. So with much BS in place ended up seeing the surgeon at about 10. He sure had a different tune with my dad sitting there. Still said I'm taking way too much pain medication blah blah blah. His exact words I do 1000 surgeries a year and I never have to medicate like you are taking. I said how many REVERSALS do you do a year? He said oh that doesn't matter it's all the same. Again trying to talk to a brick wall. I'm seeing the pain specialist on Friday and Tomorrow I'm going to my alternative care doc who is going to give me a script for pain meds. He at least is compassionate. What has our health care system come to? Janie

Default Hi Janie

I'm glad to see you posting. I am sorry that you are having pain, I hope it gets resolved soon.

It looks as if this reversal may eventually bring you good health and I am certainly hoping and praying for that.

Default Hi guys and gals

I'm still kicking over here. I went to my alternative med doc today who actually gave me a Vitamin infusion. It made me nauseated but all in all I think it did help me. I'm still in pain, but it seems to lesson each day just a little. Thanks all for your concern and prayers. Janie

Hi folks,

I have had some very nice PM's and I want to thank all who have emailed and inquired about my wellbeing. It has helped so much knowing I've got a whole village behind me here!

I was able to get to a pain specialist last Tuesday regarding the bad pain I am still in. Bariatric doc threw his hands up week two and said no more pain meds to some who maybe followed this mess. I feel like the pain doc heard me... he put me on Fentanyl pain patches and after 24 hrs on it I started to feel better. They do make me sleep a lot but I've been using the sleep.. I'll take it. I'm going to attempt to return to work on Weds of next week.. I really don't have a choice if I want my job back. Fortunately it's a really pathetic and easy job and if need be I can go lay down in my car and take cat naps during the day, it's that slow! Anyway I have NO idea when and if this pain will leave me. I certainly hope that it's just going to take time.. it's only been shy of 6 weeks. So 26 months of pain my body went through and I doubt 6 weeks is gonna cut the recovery. Thanks all for caring!! Janie

I am so glad that you went to the pain specialist. The fentanyl patches do work. I am so ticked about your surgeon....I want to find him and choke him. He has no idea what pain is and how people can suffer. Shame on him. At least you are in good hands now with a pain doc who will know how to get you under control.

Hugs,
Dale

Default returning to work

Has been absolutely very difficult. I have no energy and very little stamina! I have had to take naps on the job.. it's difficult at best I have to say. I'm going to give it a couple weeks and if it doesn't get any better then I'm going to make a decision. I can still get disability if I go off work before twoweeks of returning. I'm considering it.. maybe through the winter. I don't know I really am trying to tough this out. Janie
