Default Bat Wings?

Has anyone on Tricare had excess skin removal from their upper arms approved? While I would love a tummy tuck and upper thighs' excess removed too, I feel my upper arms are the worst. If you have had this approved, please, please, please tell me how! Thanks

My guess is that you will have a hard time getting any insurance company to pay for bat wings. They will usually pay to remove skin from your stomach if it's causing a problem, like rashes or infections that don't go away with medication. Are your bat wings causing you medical problems? Because that is probably the only way they will pay for that, and I don't think they usually cause rashes.

Good Luck. It takes blessing from God just to get the insurance to approve stomach skin removal. Arms? I don't think that will happen. Sorry. Insurance is really stubborn when it comes to cosmetic surgeries, and arms are really considered cosmetic.

I had the upper arm skin removal surgery and I can tell you it was the most painful two weeks of my life. Be prepared not to use your arms for anything. I couldn't even dress or go to the bathroom by myself.

I am curious to find out this answer too. I have Tricare and I know they are a pain to get things approved. Have you tried talking to your surgeon, they might know of a way to get it paid?

Does it also leave big scars? I saw a guy on TV who had this done and he had long scars on his arms too.

Default Big Scars Yes

Yes, the scars go from the top of your arm to your elbow., however they are on the undersideof your arm. And if you gain any weight back it makes these pockets of fat that stick out. My scars are pretty light now because it has been 7 years, however you can still see them there if you where short sleeves and lift or raise your arms, go for a massage, etc.
