Please let me know how in the world did the doctor write that one up for you. As far as I thought my insurance (United Healthcare PPO) would only pay for tummy tuck. So I'm so interested on how or what you did for your approval. Congrats and good luck!!!

Dec 16th at 12:30 is my surgery for skin removal on my tummy and thighs.
With my insurance approval on thighs only, it had to be deemed medically necessary for approval.
For tummy approval I had to be 6months out of surgery and down 100 lbs. I actually had an insurance person tell me it was easier to get approval for a tummy tuck then WLS surgery.
For those of you that wonder, call your insurance first to see if they even cover skin removal for thighs after massive weight loss. Get the verbage and then take the ball and run with it, so to speak.
Thank you for all of your support!

BC/BS Michigan Approval Tummy/Thighs
Wow! Getting it covered is amazing. I have been trying to figure out how I could pay for a tummy tuck! Please ask your Dr. what he wrote to get it approved. All information we can obtain will help us appeal to our insurance company!
Please post before/after pictures. And please let us know what to expect. I have have been told how painful it is, but everyone says they would do it again. Good luck!

Kim,
I would love to know exactly how your doctor wrote it up since I also have BCBS of MI. The clinic said they're pretty good about paying for tummy tuck and even boobs because of the problem of rash under the excess skin flaps, but said the arm flaps and saggy thighs wouldn't be covered.
Congrats on getting your approval! I already told my husband if insurance doesn't pay when I get this all off, we're taking a loan out on the house!

How amazing!
Congratulations on getting your T/T and thigh lift covered! Woo hoo!
I've had my tummy tuck done, breast reduction/lift, circumferential lift, and am now waiting the prescribed 7-8 months before going for a thigh lift.
Amazing that you have insurance that will pay for this - fantastic!
Hugs,
Kimberly

Tomorrow is my pre-op appointment for my tummy tuck and thigh lift. I've given this lots of thought. I'm wondering what type of questions I should be asking?
Lipo suction
the mons area
recovery time
pain
compression garments
Because of HIPPA I can not see before / after pictures, I wish I could put my naked body in a pc and then have the doc play with it to show me surgical results.
I'm very nervous / excited about all of this.
If you could think of any other questions I should ask, please help me out!
