Breast lift/augmentation
I was wondering if anyone here has needed a breat lift and/or augmentation after surgery? I've lost nearly 100lbs now (Only about 15 more til goal) and unfortunutely i have to have some things fixed. I used to be a 40DD and now i'm a 36C sometimes B. My chest has sagged so much i get rashes under my breasts and it's very uncomfortable. I am thinking about having surgery to correct this next year (So i can save $ in the meantime) after i have finished losing and level off. If i have them lifted, i'm also going to have a small implant put in because my self esteem went down drasticly along with my cup size. From the research i've been doing, surgeons will often use an implant to help fill out your chest when having a lift.
I'm also concerned about potential future breast feeding. I haven't had kids yet, and want to but not for a few years. I know after having kids, I probably won't be able to afford (Or undergo for that matter) a serious surgery, so i want to get all of my corrective surgeries done before (I'm also going to need the skin on my arms removed, and a tummy tuck/body lift, to fixe other problems with skin flaps and rashes). Has anyone here had a breast surgery and was able to breast feed? I've found some sites online, but i was hoping an actual person could tell me about their experiences. I've read if you have it done in a particular way there's less problems.
Also, how much did you pay for your surgery? or if your researching it, what kinds of prices have you seen?
Any info or sharing on this subject would be appreciated!

I am definitely going to need a breast lift. I have lost 105 pounds so far and am so horribly flat and saggy. I still have 35 pounds to go so I'm not looking to do it for a while yet. I also have no idea how I'm going to pay for it.

Be sure to look into getting the work done outside the US. It's much, much cheaper. Most of those doctors were trained in the US anyway.
Here's where I would go: info@surgery-retreat.com in Costa Rica. Airfare is about $400 roundtrip. That retreat center has nurses there, three meals a day, transportation to the hospital and back, wonderful, wonderful people - about $75/day for everything! When I was there for dental implants, there were people there from all over the world - getting different kinds of plastic surgery and dental work done.
Their website should have a list of approved doctors.

I had a lift and was able to get my insurance to cover the cost by actually calling it a reduction. I have a wonderful pcp who was willing to help me jump several hoops.

Does insurance typically cover reductions, Beth? How did that work? I would so love to be able to get my insurance to cover mine.

Have you talked to your Dr. about the rashes, etc.? If the rashes are documented you may get your insurance company to pay for it. At my first consult, The Dr. told me that after wls surgery the insurance company may pay to remove extra skin.
There is no guarentee, but worth a try.

Bingo!! Thats what I am planning. Granted I have not
even had the bypass yet but my boobs make my back hurt!
Who is to say they won't after I lose weight.
But actually my back has hurt since I was
like 17 and 160 lbs so I somewhat suspect these puppies arent gonna
shrink much. I was a D then. I'm a DD now although I suspect I am
really what comes after DD becasue there is definate side boob
squishing out of my bra.
Lovely thought huh?? Say it with me - SIDE BOOB! LOL.

Talk with a Dr about nursing- some women can't provide enough milk after a reduction to exclusively nurse, and others can. It'll depend on your individual situation.
