But actually my back has hurt since I was

shrink much. I was a D then. I'm a DD now although I suspect I am
really what comes after DD becasue there is definate side boob
squishing out of my bra.
Lovely thought huh?? Say it with me - SIDE BOOB! LOL.

I was a 42 DDD pre-op and am now wearing a 36 DDD but think I can go with the DD now. Before I had WLS, I actually was approved for a reduction, but I decided to wait to see how they looked after I lost 100 pounds or so. Well, they're still big, but they're not horrible and I'm rethinking having them cut up. It's weird though, because 10 pounds ago I was still a DDD and it seems the last 10 pounds I lost was right there. I personally wouldn't consider doing anything to them until my weight has stabilized for at least a year, but that's me. I'm tired of going under the knife and I hope I won't need to ever do it again.

i feel the exact opposite... Now that i've had surgery and it wasn't that bad, the thought of needing more corrective surgery doesn'y scare me. The cost does, lol, but the actual surgery seems less bad than the first. My Surgery was scary because they had to remove a good chunk of my stomach (gastrectomy) due to some other health problems. If i can deal with that, a nip or tuck doesn't seem that scary lol.

Kelly, it really kind of depends on your insurance. Many insurance companies will cover the cost of a reduction if you fit the criteria. I didn't fit the criteria for tissue volume after I lost weight because most of what was left was skin but my insurance had an alternate criteria for people who didn't have the volume but had medical problems.
I had to have 6 months documentation of moderate rashes, neck pain and back pain. I also needed to have a letter from a Physiatrist stating that any pain I was having wasn't due to a medical problem (such as arthritis) and that he felt a reduction MAY help the pain I was having.
My PCP was more than willing to have me call in monthly to document any problems I was having and the Physiatrist I saw did a consultation and then was more than happy to write me a letter stating a reduction MIGHT help. He honestly was so impressed with my weight loss that he hardly bated an eyelash when I told him the reason for the consult. I was very upfront with him that I didn't really want anything like Physical Therapy. I just needed a letter from him. He was comfortable with that and wrote it.
So my recommendation would be to pull up the criteria for a breast reduction and see what your insurance company says. I was a 36 D before my reduction and I am a 36 C now. My plastic surgeon kept whatever breast tissue I had left and just removed the excess skin. Honestly I could have used a small implant just to improve the shape of my breast but I doubt the insurance company would have covered the surgery if I had a reduction WITH an implant. *L* I don't think that would have floated.

Just from what I've heard from other people, plastics are a whole lot more painful and recovery is a lot longer than RNY surgery. Also, the RNY surgery, to me, was a walk in the park compared to my C-section and hysterectomy.

Rose,
I checked out the website and it looks awesome. By any chance ,do you have any surgeon's name/website?
Maybe you can bring some names when you come back from finishing your dental work Thanks
Good luck.

This guy is a member of the American Academy of Plastic Surgeons and a Member of the American society of Liposuction surgeons.
Clinica Rosenstock Lieberman, Phone# 657-1005 (506 for Costa Rica) - otherwise it is just like a USA call. I'll bet if you put that information into the internet, you'd get a website.
Incidentally I just talked to another woman who came here from SPAIN for her breast surgery because she had already had two botched jobs. She got reconstructive surgery and implants for $3300, and is VERY pleased with the result. She also had a face lift, brow lift, etc. etc. She looks very good - almost no swelling, no bruises that I can see.

I ebb and flow over whether I want the cosmetic surgery or not. I was huge, and now I am a 36C, which is average. I was lucky that the shape didn't change and I simply look like a woman who breastfeed two children for a long long long long time, which I did (my youngest nursed for over 4 years). I'm not terribly saggy, but I am not perky either. I want to be perky again, but I'd also like spending money on vacations.
I was blessed with good taut skin and I have no wings or other things, it's just the boobs I think about fixing, every once in a while.
