Default Plastic surgery lots of questions!!

Well I finally went in for my plastic consultation....I am so nervous! I am trying to get insurance to pay for some of this. They are sending the claim through for an abdominal plasty and also a breast lift. The dr. told me that more than likely the insurance company will only pay for the lower "panni" area for a surgery but he said he wanted to try for the entire abdominal first. He is going to document rashes, moisture, and back pain for the breasts. Are there any tips/advice that anyone can give me? Did anybody have insurance approve this on the first shot? Or what did you have to do for appeal? At one point in time somebody has posted letters for appeal on here and I can not find them, does anyone know where the link is?

As far as the "girls" go, I really do not want a reduction. He thought with a lift that I would stay around a Dcup, which is where I will ideally want to be. If I went for the reduction I think that I would be disappointed. I mean I was a G at one point but do not want to be any smaller than a C-D ideally. Anybody get a lift or reduction done? What was your after thought?

He did not measure the Panni area but did take photos, I am assuming he must know that I need surgery?

Default It's all different here

Hi Shelley,

It's all different here in Canada for insurance so I'm afraid I can't help you out with that...

I had a T/T and a breast reduction which resulted in a lift because I really had gained skin but not lost a heck of a lot of volume. The reduction was covered by provincial insurance so that was great and I ended up a C cup. I may, at some point in the future, go with some kind of implant because although I'm nice and lifted now it seems I have very little cleavage and you'd think with a C cup you'd get some of that!!

I would also recommend whatever you do, do it in stages... the T/T and the B/R B/L together were fine but don't go for a huge amount of surgery at one time... my PS said if I wanted it all done at once he'd find someone who'd do it but he wouldn't. He also said many PS's want to do it all at once so they don't lose you as a patient and they get the fees for all your OPs at once... not very healthy of an approach if you ask me.. but that's what he thought.

Hope all goes well with your insurance approval. I'm going in for a circumferential lift and thigh lift end of Sept... if he thinks I can do both.. if not, just the circumferential and thigh lift later.

Hugs,
Kimberly
