Anyone tried Lip Injections?
Yeah, it's vain. No, I don't want to have duck lips...but my upper lip is way less full than my bottom lip and I'm going in for a consultation on Thursday to see about Restylane or Juvaderm. I've had laser hair removal done by the same nurse and I totally trust her.
Has anyone here tried lip enhancement via injection? If so, I'd love to hear about it - good or bad!

I've actually done both, didn't really notice any difference between the two, except the price was a little different.
The initial novacaine injections were the most uncomfortable part, but nothing too outrageous. If possible, you won't want to go to work the next day because you do swell. I was a little self-conscious but it goes away after a couple days. I had my upper lip done because I felt it was smaller and I wanted some of that upper "pout"!
I think it's been almost 2 years since I've had it done and most of it is gone, but there was a wrinkle on my upper lip that the doc filled and it's still gone ~ I love that. I was happy with the results, but wouldn't do it again, only because about 6 months after the last injection my lips started peeling a lot, itching and at times swelling. I don't know if this condition has anything to do with the injections, it did happen later and I would think that if I were to have had a bad reaction it would have happened a lot sooner.
But, all in all, it was fun and I still think my lip is still fuller than it used to be.
Best of luck!

Heh, reminds me of an episode of that metrosexual Beverly Hills plastic surgeon who does "vaginal lip rejuvenation" surgery. I wondered if he used Restalyn or something else...

Thanks for your comments, ladies. I DID IT! See below. This was taken the day they did it. I think it looks even better now. She told me that women who see her get addicted to the way it looks...I can totally understand that cuz it looks so good to me!

Yep, I've had it done
Yes, I've had injections in the lips... actually not really by design. I started noticing this funky line above my lip when I smiled... it looked like I had a moustache and I was turning into Snidely Whiplash from those old cartoons! I was not impressed. So, talked to my PS about it and he said he could do Juvederm injections but that the line probably wouldn't use up all of the vial.
He did the area and then said there was a little more than half left so he did some in my lip area and saved the other half. He recommending waiting to see what I looked like in about a month and if I needed more in that line area above my mouth then we'd do more. One month later I went back and did a bit more... thank goodness no more moustache-looking line!!! I will have to do this again in about a year but to me it's worth the cost... I'm thinking about botox for my forehead now...
One thing I'd highly recommend is get the dental block anaesthesia... do not be a hero and just get the topical anaesthetic or you will want to kill whoever is doing the injections.
I tried to be a hero and had the PS stop and give me the dental block because the pain was unbelievabley bad. My PS told me he did his wife with just the topical and she screamed so bad that he was lucky it was when the office was closed or he swears he'd have no patients ever again... he ended up using the dental block on her too.
Hope you have the results you want.
Hugs,
Kimberly

PRETTY! I totally want to do this, my face seems to have caved in on itself (sorta) after losing the fat in it! I just need to get my kid thru college...or get him into a better job, so he can pay for college!

I agree about the dental block... I can't imagine trying to get through that without being numb!
What I love is Botox ~ I've had between my brows done twice now and love that the creases disappear!

wow, dental block. didn't even offer that as an option. Damn.
well, it didn't hurt that much, really. No more painful than any other owie thing I do to my face (laser, waxing, tweezing, etc).
I totally dig it and am going in next week for my second fill. Totally exciting and I'm going to have lovely soft pillow lips.
