I saw my PCP yesterday, and she said that I could go for a consult now for plastics and I am 9 months post-op.. So I called and made an appointment with the plastic surgeon, and when I can get it it will be 1 year out.

: )

Hope this helps!

I was 20 months post wls when I had my tummy tuck and breast lift. Essentially what my plastic surgeon wanted to see was that I was within 10-15 pounds from my goal weight and that I had pretty much maintained that weight for 6 months. My bariatric surgeon recommends that you wait at least 18 months before pursuing plastic surgery.

It is wise to wait.

I got to my lowest weight (and I'm still there, in June 2008, but I am one size smaller now than I was then, and my skin has shrunken considerably in the past year. Surgery date: 4/07. And I'm not young.

Just my perspective....

I REALLY need a breast reduction, but I'm going to wait at least another year (if I can stand dragging these huge mammalian protruberances around any longer). I'm hoping to be able to save up for the tummy tuck too by then.
