I'm also am interested in eyelid surgery. Or I should say an eye lid lift.

I have droopy eyelids, it is on my dads side of the family.

Default I did!

I had the eye lid surgery. My lids hung ( I was 55 at the time ) and was very happy with the results. I would recommend it to anyone. I had no pain, I did use pain pills from the doctor, and your eyes swell for a little while. But after a short while, you look more refreshed and ready for a good time. There is a scar but the doctor puts it in a fold so you really dont see it plus if you are a woman, eye shadow and all gone.

I had mine done in 2004. I was not really happy with it but I had the opthamologist do it instead of plastic surgeon insurance even paid for it! woo hoo! they put me to sleep just long enough to put the shots in then I laid there talking to the dr while he did it. I went straight into recovery put my clothes back on and walked out the door! it was a breeze!

Lightbulb Eyelid Lift

Hi all,

If you want to try the non-surgical route first, there are products for the upper eyelids that can help reduce or remove the "droop".

I have a couple friends that have tried the Eye Magic Eyelid Lift and say its very effective. There's another upper eyelid product called Upper Eyelid Lifter that seems to be a cream (from my experience, the creams never work!).

Here are the links for you:
Eye Magic Eyelid Lift
Upper Eyelid Lifter

Might be worth a try before spending all that money on surgery!

Good luck and I'll be talking to you soon!

My son's grandmother had it a few years ago ~ she was probably 63. Totally covered under insurance too. Very quick surgery and recovery.

She was not interested in the esthetics of having it done, it was purely functional as her lids hung over her eyes, but, once the swelling went aways (probably a week) she loved how it looked!!! She had no problems afterward and said the surgery was a breeze. She was diabetic and had loads of health issues, none of which interfered. In fact, the week after her surgery, she flew out to CA from NC to visit ~ looked great too!

My husband talks about wanting it done too. Really helps "open" your face up, as well as making it easier to see!
