Default One Week out from BL - Q's for nurses or anyone else who's had plastic surgery

Hi All,

I am one week out from my breast lift and bra roll excision. I am finally back to work today and as far as pain from surgery, doing quite well. I don't have much pain to speak of, at this point, but do have some issues that I thought maybe some of you might be able to help me with. It has been one full week since the surgery and I still feel weird - lethargic, not much energy, dizzy and lightheaded sometimes, and just an overall brain fog - like I can't concentrate or focus like normal. I feel really strange. Could this be from the anesthesia, just side effects from being put to sleep from surgery, could my iron be low? I am not sure what to think. The surgeon did tell me that I bleed a lot during the procedure, so that's what made me think it could be the iron. Anyone have any insights for me? I am going back to the doc tomorrow and will definitely be talking with him about it, but I thought if someone had a similar experience or knew something about this stuff could share with me and set my mind at ease. It's starting to worry me. I wasn't planning on feeling so crappy this far out from surgery. Help please!

Thanks all!
Amy~

So what did your doc say about how you were feeling? Was it normal or something else?

I see this is a bit of an older thread but thought I would share my experience. I had a breast lift and tummy tuck at the same time and felt the exact same way. Mine lasted several weeks though. My plastic surgeon attributed it to my blood loss. He said I also had a lot of bleeding during surgery and even though I wasn't anemic prior to surgery I certainly was afterward. The pain pills can also make you feel that way, if you are still taking pain medication. Also, if you are at all dehydrated.

Hope you are feeling better. Sorry I missed this thread before.
