Default Rest of body lift

Hello All,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm going to be scheduling the rest of my LBL for end of August or into September. I went to my PS office for a 6 week follow up and he says things are coming along well and he's impressed with the way my scars are healing. Of course, I am impatient to see the swelling go down faster and see my tummy tighten more but I am very happy that with clothes on my stomach is flat.

When he did my T/T and breast lift he did not go as far as he wanted with the T/T, meaning not right out to the flanks on either side; he thought that after removing nearly 10lbs of skin from my tummy and breasts that was enough. So, I am going to go back and get the sides and back half done.

He also may do a revision on my T/T and take a little more skin off (Beth, why am I following in your footsteps here? hehe). Following that, about six months later, I will have my thigh lift and then I will (hopefully) be done with surgery for awhile.

Interestingly, my surgeon would not do the LBL altogether and is a firm believer in doing this surgery in stages. He said there was a 2% deathrate for doing the whole circumferential body lift at one time and if done in stages it's almost nil and he is absolutely not someone who ever wants to do surgery where someone has died - he's never lost a patient yet and doesn't intend to.

That's also one of the reasons he wants to do the flanks and back half lift at one time but not the thigh lift at the same time. He said he would say now he'll do it but if he gets in the OR and after the back half/flanks he thinks there's even a small chance he should not proceed with the thigh lift at that time that his threshold for deciding against will be very low.

I must say I really respect this surgeon. He has my best interests at heart and is not wanting to risk my health in anyway.

Hope all of you are doing as well as I have so far.

Hugs,
Kimberly

Hi Kim

My plastic surgeon said exactly the same. He has done the front and I have little dog ears either side but they don't bother me as I know they will go when he does the rest. I had mine done 6 weeks ago and am healing really well. He is seeing me again in November and will set a date for the sides and back. Can't wait. It is great to be able to wear nice knickers and trousers and not to have to accomodate a large hanging stomach. No more really long tops to hide it.
