LOL
Thanks, Av. I appreciate your words.
Actually, I *haven't* taken any before pictures this time. I know I should but I've been very reluctant this time (as opposed to when I had WLS). A big part of me just wants to put that other person faaaar behind me and not be reminded of who I was. If that makes any sense?
I guess I still have some time yet today to get the camera out but my day has gotten so hectic already it's iffy as to whether I'll 'make' the time... ya know? We'll see.
I'll be trying to update my Facebook and MySpace pages while I'm in the hospital... don't know if you use either of them but if so, you're welcome to 'friend' me to view the updates (my links to those pages are below in my sig line). If not, I still have your contact info and I could always send you a text message on how things are going... either way works for me.
Anyways, it'll be interesting how well I 'blog' while I'm on pain meds... should make for an interesting experience.

i understand that you wanna put that "person" behind you. but i think youll want to take them... even if you never look at them, itll be a good thing to have. id say do it and put it away, if you ever want them- theyll be there.

Hey Jim, did your insurance cover your surgery? I'm still pretty new to this whole thing but I was curious.

My question is to the tummy tuck veterans out there: How long did it take after your surgery for you to be comfortable enough to sleep on your side or on your stomach?
I don't sleep much on my back and I'm thinking this is gonna be a pain for me (in more ways than one! ). Also, did you find sleeping in a recliner more tolerable or was the bed a better way to go.
I've got all my ducks in a row, all my stuff is packed, all the paperwork is done, and now all I have to do is twiddle my thumbs and wait...
...and wait...
...and wait...
Um, the waiting is driving me CRAZY!

Hi Jim, first of all, I want you to know I'll be thinking about you tomorrow. I'm excited for you!! Plastic surgery is really a very emotional ride and physically it can be pretty painful. But at least from my point of view it was SO worth it!! I feel better about myself not only physically but emotionally. It's kind of like the icing on the cake.
In regards to the recliner? I definitely used it. I slept best that way. It was really hard to stretch out and lay. I think I slept in the chair for about the first 1-2 weeks. After that I used one of those body pillows plus a small travel type pillow to tuck up under my side by the incisions so that I could sleep on my side. I'm not much of a back or stomach sleeper but if I can't sleep on my side I usually can't sleep in my bed.
Let us know how things go tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you back after the next step of this awesome journey!

Ah, Beth! You are amazing! Here you are, recovering from your own surgery and you find the time to post words of encouragement and advice on my thread. I nominate you for sainthood. And I hope you're well on the way to getting better!
With yours and Whitney's advice, I do plan on using the recliner, at least initially and see how it goes from there. I have a feeling I'm gonna miss my bed, though... I looooooove my bed. Hopefully it won't be too long of a 'separation', though. And pretty much anything is tolerable right now if it means getting rid of the stomach and love handles, right?
I will be sure to let you know how things are going. If you have either a Facebook or MySpace account, please feel free to 'friend' me (links belwo in my sig) as I plan (okay, I HOPE) to update my progress via those two sites while in the hospital.

Good luck tomorrow, Jim.. will be thinking of you tomorrow.
Doesn't the plastic surgeon's office usually take before/after pics for you? I thought that was SOP before plastics... (and something that would be really, really difficult for me to deal with, emotionally... there is just too much excess skin )
