I decided to take another approach and start documenting the chronic rashing with my PCP. I can not take the risk that BCBS will not cover the procedure (after the fact), leaving me on the hook. I am also looking into switching to my wife's insurance. Presently I do not have enough free time off from work to do anything until after the first of the year. So I'm planning to try this again in January.

What is the unknown mass from? Do the Doctors have a reason for these things to occur? They are not concerned so they must be benign but I am curious what they are made up of and why they think they occur?

After an X-ray and an Ultra-sound it was determined to be a fatty mass. I has not changed significantly since I noticed it earlier this year. I did not get an answer on the cause, but my guess would be it is related to my many, many Yo-Yo diets (pre-op) expanding and contracting the fat cells in my abdomen.
