Arm & Thigh Lifts...
Has anyone here had an arm and/or thigh lift after WLS or has anyone considered having these procedures done?
Its something I am considering but I want to know how pleased people are with the procedure, their results, and how the scars are.
Thanks!

I actually had mine done before surgery. I had a lower body lift, inner thigh lift and arm lift. I have really bad scars from the arm lift and probably wouldn't do that again. But I would do the other two again. I had the surgeries in stages: Stage one was a tummy tuck, stage two was continuing the tummy tuck around to the back of my body, doing the inner thigh lift and the arm lift.

Oh thats really cool Veronica!
Those are the procedures I want. May I ask if there is any particular reason why you you did those procedures before youre WL surgery? And also how did the scars heel because thats what im most afraid of especially on the inner thighs.
Do you happen to have any like before and after pictures?
Thanks!

Thanks for youre response Lea-
Wow thats really cool. Are you in alot of pain and did they use staples or stitches? Hope you will be happy with the results and I'd an update on how everything went.
Its something I am really considering but not many people get those procedures done and if they do you rarely ever hear about it or see pictures to know how everything turned out.
Thanks!

I definitely would love to have a thigh lift myself! And butt lift -- does that make it a whole lower body lift? I looked into things a bit since I'm so close to goal and have decided not to do anything to my arms. They honestly aren't bad, but there is a little loose skin and stretch marks that I wish I could wave a magic wand over. I've seen the scars from the arm lifts and they scared me away from that one. And I heard that like most plastics they often require revisions and the thought of even worse scars made me shiver. If my arms were worse, I might re-think it, though.

I had lost a lot of weight through a liquid diet, and of course, was sure I would keep it off! So, I had plastic surgery. I started to gain the weight back and then I knew I needed some drastic help to keep it off. That is when I had WLS.
I will look for some before and after pics and see if they are ones I am comfortable sharing.

I'm also looking into these surgeries
I have had a consultation for a T/T, breast reduction, and thigh lift. The surgeon will do the T/T and breast reduction at the same time and the thigh lift will be done later. I haven't booked anything yet as I am going to have to pay for all of this - insurance won't cover a dime of it here so I'm paying down some debt first and then am going to get a loan which I was pre-approved for, for all of the surgeries.
The inner thigh lift though, the surgeon said he wouldn't do the type where the scar is in the crease of the leg; he's found far more success and people are happier with the results when he's done lifts and skin removal from the inner thigh where the scar is vertical on the inside of the leg. I've seen the pictures and they look very good. I'm debating this one too...
Hugs,
Kimberly

Oh yes Nyn! The scars are my biggest concern about those surgeries as well. Especially the arms because its hard to cover them. Maybe after I have my surgery it wont be so bad to try and work out and put the skin back into place but im keeping my options open just incase its something I want to do. But its a huge committment because you just dont know if the scars will ever go away or fade enough to expose those areas.
What are revisions?

Hey canuckdiva,
Ive heard that when you have GB surgery youre insurance will pay for a tummy tuck but nothing else. Thats if you need it. See I havent had my surgery yet and my surgeon says she doesnt think I will need it but lets face it lol I need one now so I think i may need one after surgery but im not so sure the insurance will cover it even if like you just want it.. im thinking youre GB surgeon or youre physian may need to write it off to youre insurance for them to pay for it. If you didnt know that already you should ask incase you may not need to pay for it. Im sure you probably looked into all that already and thanks for the advice because if my insurance doesnt pay for it then I will be paying for it myself.
I would like the tummy tuck, the arm lift and the inner thigh lift. The scars are my biggest concern and the inner thighs is something I really wanted to get done even now before my gb surgery. But that scar is horrible thats left behind on the legs.. I know that they do mini thigh lifts where the scar is in the groin area.. is that what the ps showed you in pictures? I think I would need the whole inner thigh though.. they say that only a portion of the top of the thigh.
