Sending good vibes for Tuesday Beth - I shall be thinking of you.

I certainly look forward to seeing the tummy pictures - I knew my skin wouldn't shrink back much at my age but the tummy is worse that I'd have thought possible.

My DH tucks his shirt into his trousers - I tuck my tummy skin in!

Thumbs up

Beth,
I hope all goes as you wish. as for the revisions my PS brought up the same thing he said there would be few touch ups after the first surgery. I am glad to hear this is something being done by others..

May God bless you and your surgeon
Dave

Thank you all for the well wishes. Zen, its not that I'm not a chicken its that I really don't have the choice if I want this done. *L* I really want to have these areas tightened up because they do bother me...no medical reason for it but emotionally I need to do this for myself. So without insurance coverage for any of this I need to bite the bullet and go for it. *L* It's probably not going to be nearly as bad as I'm picturing in my head.

Dave, yep...when such a large portion of skin is removed the first time around it is pretty diffucult to get it as refined as you want it. Not because the surgeon isn't good just the nature of the surgery. I knew ahead of time that the areas that I'm having the revisions are diffucult areas to get right the first time. I saw your other thread and I understand why it was rather unerving for you. It is a big surgery plus you are having even more done than I did. With the TT and breast lift mine was a 6 hour surgery and the blood loss was quite high. It most certainly isn't a walk in the park but even with all the pain, fatigue and healing time I would do it over in a heartbeat. I'm so glad I had it done and feel so much better mentally and physically for taking the step. I needed it to feel that my journey was complete and it was able to bring my mind to a place of contentment about my body. So don't let your consultation scare you. It sounds as if your surgeon is someone you can trust because he was honest with you.

I'll let you all know how things go on Tuesday. My surgery is scheduled for 1pm but since it is a local won't have to go through the wakeup time. One reason I am glad I won't be having general anesthesia is that it makes me extremely sick and I don't relish having the dry heaves postop once again. Last surgery really just about did me in when it came to the nausea and the throwing up.

Oh thanks Whitney and Angel....I'm not so sure if I'm brave or stupid. *L* I guess I'll find that out later on Tuesday.

Beth, (((big hugs))) and wishing you the best. I would think he would probably give you a valium or something like they did for me during my LASIK surgery. It wore off quickly afterwards. I hope you get everything like you want it after this procedure!

Doesn't matter if you're brave, stupid or even barking mad! If this is what you want for yourself then that's the end of the story.

I've spent a lifetime pleasing others with little regard for my own physical and emotional needs. Having this surgery has made me see myself in a whole new light and I applaud you for what you've done and are continuing to do for yourself. Hugs.

Nyn, I have a little Valium still at home from the tummy tuck. I'm really tempted to take it along and ask Dr Ford if I can take some if he doesn't plan on giving me anything.

Corrine, you are so right. For years I didn't care about myself, I did for everyone else but rarely did for myself. I'm thankful that my husband is so supportive and is encouraging me to do for myself. He says I have worked so hard and I deserve this. I must say that I agree.
