The un-joys of the surgery world. I'm 9 months out and STILL have issues if I dont take 200mg of collace and put flax seed in my cream of wheat in the morning. that combo doesnt turn me the other way (no idea if it would for someone else tho)..

I hope you stay goin... constipation is so un-fun!

Colace has saved my life! I get the generic version at Walmart for about $4. You can also get generic peri-colace that has a laxative in it.

I've had chronic constipation from WLS. Calcium made it worse. I actually learned where the term to sh*t a brick came from. I have been on peri-colace since Aug 2005. It's a stimulant and a stool softener. When I had my plastic surgeries, the paralytics and narcotics really bound me up. Eating all the fruits and vegtables, and benefiber and all that crap just didn't help. Last year, I discovered the citracal soft chews and now I can tolerate 500mg of calcium a day. I think back to the time when I used to roll my eyes when someone complained of constipation. Until the day I had to disimpact myself, I used to think what a bunch of babies. Well....no more. Constipation sucks! Sue
