Good luck on your plastics. What exactly will insurance cover? I am just curious.

well my insurance will cover the TT portion, but it will not cover the arms or the breast lift... but something is better than nothing.. My surgeon said he would do his best to put up a good fight for me and if anyone can do it he can he has been at it for years..

TT and mastopexy
I had a TT, hernia repair and mastopexy all at the same time in Dec. No pain from the breast or suture line of the TT, all the abdominal muscles hurt like hell after the TT.

I have had a hysterictomy (sp) with no pain because of pain meds, but what about a tummy tuck? You write it hurt you didn't the meds work? What kind did you take? How long did you have pain and was it worth it? Anyone and everyone please let me know if you had pain from a tummy tuck?

I had a full belt lipectomy and mastopexy and the pain was minimal. I was off everything but tylenol in 4 or 5 days, but I had been working out like crazy and was in the best shape of my life. When I did something stupid, I felt it, but otherwise, it was not worse than I expected. Other people suffer crazy pain - I don't know. I also had two children naturally - I just know the pain will go away and try not to focus on it.
You know how you do with this stuff - attitude has something to do with it to. It you don't fight it, if you expect to feel like you were hit by a truck and instead you just feel like you were grazed by a nissan, well - it isn't so bad then, is it?

How long to weight before Plastics!
Hi All from London, England!
Just a quick question! I don't want to jump the gun before I am ready but how long does your Docs recommend you wait before you have a TT??
I appreciate that I am only post op in October 2007 but already I have lost 117lbs and I do have loose skin....
I am going to the gym 6-7 times a week but I know that I will most likely need a TT in the future.... How long should I be waiting for before considering one?? Luckily in the UK I got my Lap G Bypass on the NHS so it was free and my plastics will also be free so the funding and stuff is not an issue for me at all..
What is a realistic time I should be waiting before considering??? 12/18/24 months???
Just as a wee added note... I love reading all your success stories as they are really motivational and inspirational!
Lots of love to ya all!
Gary x

Gary, my Plastic Surgeon recommends waiting until you are at least 12 months postop but preferably more like 18 months postop. My wls surgeon told me not to even think about plastic surgery until I was 18 months postop.
My plastic surgeon also wanted me pretty close to my goal weight and having maintained my weight for the past 3 months.
I was 20 months postop when I had my tummy tuck and breast lift. I was 10 pounds from goal and had maintained that weight for 3 months.
Hope that answers your question.
