Good Evening Everyone. I had gastric bypass in May of 2007. I have lost 98 pounds so far. Iam looking into the plastic surgery mainly for my stomache and my back end. I was large in both areas and now Iam trying to firm up but its not happening. Do insurances cover plastic surgery after gastric usually?

depending on your insurance and there requirements they do.
I has Aetna and they require a list of things.. including

hanging skin lower than the pubic area (something like that)
rashes that have been treated by your doctor for at least 3 months
and a letter from the doctor.

you may need to consult your insurance company.

I looked on line and read about it.

good luck.

I was only able to get a TT due to my hernia. I still had to pay for the skin removal.

My insurance paid for a TT and a breast lift. My doctor did my arms at the same time he did my TT so it was alot less expensive. I had a breast lift and my neck lifted at the same time. Once again it was less expensive since my insurance was paying for my breast lift to go ahead and have my neck lifted. I carried alot of my weight in the top part of my body. Having to skin removed was the best thing i could have done for myself. It is painful. It isn't as easy as the TV shows makes it to be. But in the long run it is worth it!!!!
