Default I hate my stomach!!! plastics here i come

So its funny how almost 50 lbs lighter i have all of a sudden become disgusted with my body, this may not make sense but i think i actually looked better 50 lbs heavier...my stomach is so gross looking, i hate it! and my legs yuck! So im going to a plastics consult/seminar at the end of the month, and yes i still have 60 lbs to lose, but i have a feeling ill still be unhappy, i remembered when i went on lindora i was the same weight i am now and i looked a million times better, my tummy was 100 times flatter and my legs toned..im so depressed right now

You are 25. DO NOT even think about it.. unless you plan on not having kids.. is it really worth it? You did this to become healthier... not for vanity purposes....

We are both very young still... really.. just hit the gym.. try to tone up.. i mean you are what, 4.5 wks out? im 6 wks out.. just let the surgery do its job... and see where you are in another 11-13 months.. and then if u feel u want it, THEN consider it.. but dont use plastics as a reason not to work ur ass off at the gym...

Most plastic surgeons (read, reputable) will not touch you until your weight has stabalized. So you're in for some waiting. Also - your body will change after losing the weight and especially with your workout schedule. I know you want to jump on this, but you'll do better to wait till you're at least a year out.

And whats wrong with vanity??

I knew I would need plastics for my stomach for the start. Needed it for the arms and thighs. For the best results, you need to be very close to your healthy body weight range. Like it was said before, a reputable plastic surgeon won't consider you until you stabilized your weight and if you have medical problems related to the excess skin, most insurance companies wouldn't consider it until you are at least 18 months out and stable weight(documented) for at least 6 months. Exercise is a good thing. It will tone your muscles but exerices does not help stretched out skin. If your skin is smooth, healthy looking, and seems to still have good elasticity to it, you may not need to do anything at all. But if it's got stretch marks, kinda thin, doesn't snap back as quickly as it used to, there is a good chance it's going to sag. Since you are young, you haven't had that long I time to get to the point of no return. I was a fat ass for most of my life, my skin gave up a long time ago. If you need a full tummy tuck, that's where they tighten the muscles, it may be a good idea to wait to see if you want kids. If you are just having the excess skin (panniculectomy), having kids may only just give you some stretch marks but may not ruin the whole thing. But I agree, I was more critical of my body as the weight and after the weight came off, then I was when I was 316 lbs. I guess I was so used to my body like that and had accepted my body like that. I was out of my comfort zone. I'm finally, after almost 3 years, having less body issues and becoming more accepting of how I look now. It's a process and it takes some time. Keep up the good work and congratulations on the weight loss so far! Sue

You can still have plastics and have a very healthy baby. I plan on doing it, and there are a few women on this board going thru it right now. I had a full body lift and was told to wait a year. It's all new skin and it will bonce back even after a baby. So while yes she should wait until she's at least a year out ( I waited 2+) she can still have a child if she wants after plastics.

I only meant it as.. if u are going to think about having children, to wait for plastics.. esp. in the tummy area..
