Default Ahhhhh the Relief

I had a post-op check up today and the nurse kindly removed some stray bits of soluble stitches from me and lawwwwwd I can sit down without feeling I am sitting on razor blades

My wounds, in particular my open groin wound, are healing very well. My TT is doing pretty good although it does look like I will be left with skin tags which they fondly call dog-ears where my apron was but they will check it again in another few weeks to see how the swelling goes. I can have this revised at a later time if I want it.

I've decided to go back to work part-time on Monday - not ready to go full time yet as I can't sit up for long stretches.

Overall I am feeling very positive.

Girl I hear ya! I had 2 Jp drains in my crotch for 12 days. I swear I heard a chorus of angels sing and a flock of doves fly overhead when they pulled them out!!!!! Just don't push it. Starting back part time is good. Remember that you can't lift over 5 lbs for 8 weeks. And you will be very tired. I went back to work 3.5 weeks post op and started back on a Wed. I actually left early that first day as I was so tired and I have a desk job. I'm also the type to over do when I feel better. I had a "dog ear" on my right hip and had that revised last March after the orginal surgery in Dec 2006. Just had my thighs revised on 12-21-07 and am back in compression garments. Glad you are doing well. Keep us posted. Sue

Oh - I STILL have one. After 5 months!! When I went in for my 6 week check-up, we thought we had them all, but there is still one there. Since I drive 90 minutes to get there, I'm not going for one silly stich, but March seems very far away!

I agree that you should really take it easy. You'll feel it if you don't and that achiness can stick around. I'll assume you have a desk job and will not be lifting I-beams or anything...

And those dog ears can be taken off right in the office I think...I don't have any, but they mentioned it to me before my surgery.

So heal well!!

Default JP Drains

I had a JP for 4 weeks. It was still sucking but often just sucked air and filled with air and then it didn't suck drainage. It still pulled 100-200 cc of really fluid a day tho. I was scheduled to go in today and have it removed since I got real insistent with my doc, and guess what, it just cvame out today by itself! God has a way of taking these things into His own hands! Since I haven't heard from their office yet after calling about this 2 hrs ago, I don't expect to need to see them til next week! Yeah! Other than the slightly uncomfortable binder and sore abs, I feel pretty good-but the abdominoplasty was excruciatingly painful. The mastopexy looks great and was not painful at all!
