Hello,

Today being 4th of January, I am now officially 20 days after abdominoplasty, recovering at home. The surgery was a success, I had not complications, and my surgeon and Dr.s were all great. Also I has the surgery in the same unit of the hospital in Pisa where I had gastric bypass in May 2007, so many Dr.s and staff new me and were excited for the progress.
My surgeon attempted creating a new belly button for me, however he was working with a herniated musclely belly button mass to begin with, unfortunately I learned two days ago that the new belly button was not working out and that I would heal initially without having a belly button, for me this is ok. I will have touchups in 2 or 3 months from the same surgeon who will at that time create a new smaller belly button. Again I find myself feeling a bit emotional, happiness with the new look and the removal of an area of my stomache that has given me decades of unpleasantness. But also I find myself worrying about the healing of this massive cut across my body. Fortunately I dont have to look at the area, because I have a partner who changes the bandages every day and I also see the medical team 2 times each week at least. It is an amazing surgery that I am grateful for having been given the opportunity to have. I have posted a couple new photo updates in the photo section. This is another reward of this amazing surgery that is changing my life.
Thanks
pebitpeb
Paul

Caught your post in the pics section. Let me be the first in this thread since I wasnt in that one.

congrats!!! Paul you look awesome man. Your pics show a big change(the cane). Im so happy for you. I didn't have the full am. myself but, I hear it works wonders on tightning up your middle section.

Regardless don't fret about the belly button thing. I had a fake one made myself. When you go back in, in a few months they will be able to do it no problem! You look great and glad to hear you are recovering so well.

Time to smile and enjoy life myfriend.
