Just had plastics!
I had a TT, muscle and hernia repairs and mastopexy on 12/10. I knew the abdominal muscles would be painful but for how long? Even the tiniest movement is awful, I walk hunched over a cane like Quasimodo, and coughing-excrutiating! Works of advice, encouragement welcome! I had no regrets and little pain from my open GBP 2 yr ago, but this is a whole 'nother circle of hell!

glad to see you posting Linda.
Well, I affectionately called my plastics the ring of fire!! Now you know why!
The abdominalplasty is a tightening of the abdominal muscles. Like you just worked out doing 4000 crunches. I remember it well. As far as hunching I was given the advice to straighten out as much as possible. You do not want to let the muscles and healing to stay in that shape. Be careful, take it easy and be well!!
It will pass....I promise!!

I stated a thread ealier for you, here are more well wishes!!

As I remember
I had a belt lipectomy, so it was all the way around. As I remember, it wasn't all that bad if I found a comfy position, but when you move, well - what are you gonna do. I tried to stand as straight as possible but I remember it took a couple months to lie down normally. I also remember feeling MUCH better after the drains were out. You know - you just move slowly and take it a day at a time.
It has been 5 months now, I am absolutely fine - can work out like a demon - and hardly remember any problems at all - so it can't have been that bad for that long. Whatever it is for you though, you'll get through it and get better every day.
Good luck!

Hi Linda, welcome back home. I'm glad all went well with your plastics. I had a tummy tuck, muscles and maxoplexy 3 months ago so I know where you are coming from when it comes to the pain. Like Laura said, it does get better but you need to give yourself time. I know I had dry heaves that whole first night after surgery and it just about did me in!! After I had all my drains out I started to feel better. I know what did help a lot was Valium. I had a lot of muscle spasms because of the muscle tightening and my PS gave me a script for a little Valium. I only took it about once a day but it sure was the answer when those muscles would start tightening up. I know for myself the exhaustion was totally unexpected. I felt like a wet rag for a several weeks!! So don't be surprised if you are really tired. I know I was taking naps there every day for probably the first 2-3 weeks. I don't know if about you but I know I lost a lot of blood during the surgery plus had aunt flo thrown in there to add to the blood loss so I'm sure that's why I was so exhausted.
Hang in there my dear. Get yourself a nice body pillow to curl up with. It was a God send for me!! It's a lot of pain for awhile but in the end I know you will be so thrilled!! I would love to see pictures if you ever feel like sharing. I have a journal with mine in. They cover the first several weeks post op. Just let me know if you would like to see them. I'm happy to direct you to them and give you the password.

cost of lipo?
I totally understand if you guys dont want to to answer this question but about how much is some inner thigh and lipo on the tummy cost? or what is the average cost? I am younger and have always worked out so my doc says i wont need it b/c i only had about 60-70 lbs to lose.. but i am still considering it Thanks!

With so little weight to lose, and your age, your doctor is most likely right. you may be able to do it all with exercise. As for cost, most plastic surgeon's are happy to do a consult and tell you exactly how much each procedure is and what it involves. Plastic surgery costs are all very different. Regional - depends upon the surgeon's experience etc. if you have more than one procedure at a time etc.
Most of us had plastic surgery due to sagging skin - I don't know anyone here who just did lipo. so although I know what I paid and what others here paid, it wouldn't be much help.
