Default Thigh Revision Friday

Seems like I'll be spending another holdiay season recovering from surgery #3. I'm having a revision of my thigh lift on Friday. Last years, I had my TT and thigh lift. March, I had a revision of the abd insicion. Next year will have the arms done and hopefully, be done with surgery before I start getting addicted to anethesia! I try to get this done in the colder months because I'll have to wear a compression garment for about 6-8 weeks. We have a very short cold season in NC. I'll be so happy to finally get rid of all this extra skin. I don't care if I look like a living autopsy! Sue

Good Luck to you! I already want a thigh lift... Those poor sharpeis that I tuck in the legs of my pants everyday want to be released!

I'm envious! And I hope it all goes extraordinarily well!

Thanks for all your good wishes. I'm working on getting a new computer as I need to replace the museum piece I have at home. then I can upload some pictures. when I first went for a consult, my surgeon told me I may need some revisions. He likes to be a little more conservative because it's easier to take more skin later than it is to take off too much and have major issues with wound closing. I'm glad that my insurance covered the TT and thigh lift. Got good documentation on the horrible chafing rashes on my inner thighs. This will be billed as a revision and not another thigh lift. I still have about a handful of loose skin still there. Last year, I was cut from hip to hip and up to between my breasts, and from crotch to just above my knee on both inner thighs. The first 1.5 weeks were a little rough. Actually, the worst part were the 2 drains that I had coming out of my crotch. My surgeon said he like to place them there because it's a good place to hide the scars. They were in for 12 days. They rubbed against the opening in the compression garment. I couldn't take a shower until they were out. Yuck! But I would do it again in a heartbeat. Not having the 3 stomachs hanging down and just having my body look like a sharpee, is well worth it. But I will get some pictures posted once I get a new computer. Thanks for the well wishes!

Good luck Sue. I have to admit, I'm totally jealous that you got insurance to cover your thigh lift. I've gone through my insurance companies policies with a fine toothed comb and I don't see any way of getting my company to cover a lift. After the quotes I got from my plastic surgery in regards to the lift I just don't see it in my future especially since I would have to pay doctor and hospital costs. I'm curious about what kind of abdominal revisions you had in March. My plastic surgeon is looking at doing some revisions with me too. I had an appointment with him today and he wanted to wait 2 more months and then rediscuss it. He also wants to do some revisions of my breast lifts along my sides. I suspect I will opt for the revisions especially since he feels as if he can get insurance to cover them. We shall see.

Well I hope all goes well for you on Friday. Let us know when you can.

Actually, I had good documentation on the thighs but the truth is that my I had to have my coworker review the case for me as I could approve the surgery myself. I work for my insurance company. They denied the surgery for my arms and the denial was upheld on the first level appeal. I think I will take it to a 2nd level as that is reviewed by outside physicians. The revisions I had were taking some more skin from the upper abd and fixng the scar....it was a little crooked. I still have a small handful of skin in that area that will be revision 2 some time next year when I get the arms done. I also had a "dog ear" on my right hip and there was a small area where I had a hematoma right where the inverted T came together. I had to pack that area, even though it was healing, my surgeon said the it would leave a nasty scar. Had ot have another JP drain but that only stayed in for a few days. Since my insurance paid for the thighs, they have to cover any revisions to it. He said he took off about 25% of the circumference of my thighs, I really had a lot of skin there, but I still have a big handful left. It does look better. My thighs are small but the front still looks like cottage cheese while the backs look nice and smooth. I just want the skin to look smoother. I thought about getting the boobs done. I don't really like the idea of having a silicone implant and saline implants look too fake. Don't really want to spend that much money on boobs either. I guess since I never had nice boobs anyway, it's not that big a deal to me. I'd rather pay the money to fix my arms. As long as Victoria's Secret stays in business, I'll always look like I have a nice rack in clothes! Sue

I'm back! So far so good. Legs are a little sore but the incisions look really good. I'm back in compression garment hell for another 5 weeks but I'll live. he only embarrassing thing is how high I was just before the surgery. I had a conversation with the anesthesiologist about not remembering anything before the last surgery. usually, I remembered being taken into the or and being put on the table and maybe a few short conversations. But Last time, nothing. He told me they had given my versed and ketamine that time. He said, I'll talk to you after to see if you remember anything this time. I wish I didn't. I remember all of a sudden that everything was so funny and I couldn't stop laughing. I was trying to tell them about the Grinch and all the Who's in Whoville (as we watched the Grinch, with Jim Carey, movie the night before). I remember everyone laughing, I hope with me and not at me but I'm sure they were laughing at me. Oh my God and I remember telling him that was some good shit that he gave me. Post op when I was more awake, the anethesiologist came to see me and I reluctantly admitted I did remember. He said I made everyone's morning and they had a good laugh. HOpe everyone had a nice holiday and thanks again for the well wishes and prayers! Sue

Sue, I have a horrible scar from my thigh lift. After about 2 weeks after the surgery my incision on the right leg OPENED up. I could see inside my leg! I went back to the Dr and he put a couple stitches and packed it. But the scar line has fallen I guess. Stranding in the mirror it looks like I have the biggest crotch in the world because the incision hangs really low. Its a self esteem downer for me, I dont get rashes or anything, usually the most troube I get is clogged pores and ingrown hairs. Is it possible to have a revision done just because the scar is awful? It is clearly visible in a swimsuit and underwear. The only time you cant see it is if Im wearing board shorts at the beach.

I appreciate your feedback darlin
