Sorry...I hadn't looked at this thread in a while. It really depends. usually, any surgery that is not covered by your insurance or denied by insurance, the patient has to pay for it and any complications that come from having it. However, if a new and different and not related to the reason for having surgery medical condition comes up, it might be covered. Like if you had an injury to that area. I am not suggesting that you hurt or cut yourself there. Please don't do that. I was lucky. My thigh scars healed well and the revision part is healing nicely. Still red but starting to fade. I would talk to the surgeon that did it. He may have taken a little too much skin and it pulled. If he does surgeries in his office, this may be something he could fix with a local anesthetic. He may be willing to work with you on the price. I'm paying to have my arms done when I get a couple other sites revised. I have a reddend area by my right hip that he thinks a suture didn't disolve like it was supposed to and is causing irritation and my upper abd needs a little cleaning up. Hopefully, this will be my last surgery. So far, I've been lucky and not had any complications. If I have complications with my arms, I'll be stuck paying for any revisions myself. I have heard from many people that the thighs have a higher rate of incision complications. I don't know if it's because of the weight bearing or walking or what. Sue
