Exclamation Dr. Phil's Show on Plastics...

I don't know if any of you watched Dr. Phil yesterday --- a woman was on who had lost 200 lbs via WLS... she mortgaged her house and paid Dr. Jan Adams $30,000 for a total body lift. She met him for the first time 10 min. before her surgery - her TEN HOUR surgery! When she woke up after, she was in a hotel, recovering... Now she's suffering with nerve damage, strange scars, and all sorts of problems...

She "chose" him because he was the ONLY surgeon who would do it all in one surgery --- and the price was right. (should have been a clue)

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? 1: Dr. Adams should not be practicing medicine and 2: How DUMB CAN YOU BE????? This wasn't like going in for a haircut...

Maybe folks here on Thinner Times are just SMART PEOPLE... and there are a lot of STUPID folks out there having surgeries like this without really knowing what they're doing to their bodies...

katie

Show Description:The recent tragic death of rap superstar Kanye West’s mother, Donda West, has put a spotlight on plastic surgery and the risks involved. Donda died one day after her tummy tuck and breast reduction procedures. Is her cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Jan Adams -- whose surgery center is housed in a strip mall, who isn’t board certified and who has a long list of malpractice suits against him -- to blame for her death? Joining the discussion are senior editor of People magazine, Galina Espinoza, who shares what Adams had to say shortly after Donda’s death, board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Andrew Ordon, and Dr. Adams’ uncle and former business partner, Dr. Pearlman Hicks. Plus, some of Adams’ former patients reveal what they say were horrific experiences under his knife: Jama says her full-body lift has left her disfigured, numb and unable to be intimate with her husband, Lori says Dr. Adams left a surgical sponge inside her after performing a breast surgery, and Rachel says she was left looking like she was sawed in half after her tummy tuck incision burst open three times. Warning: This show contains graphic images.

I saw it and thought she was pretty stupid myself. There were some definite red flags that she should have questioned. I didn't feel sorry for her.

I saw that show as well, and think she must be a "special" kind of stupid. I agree with Cindy, you can't feel sorry for someone that meets someone for 10 mins and let's them cut on her. That's nuts!!!

Girls, I saw this show, and after all we have gone through or are planning to go through, we have learned our lessons well and KNOW that one of the MOST critical components for success is the SURGEON....DUHHHHH.

Default Thanks Katie!!!

This should serve as a warning to ALL of the Peeps out there looking for Plastics and Quick Fixes. Surgery on this level and that of GBS are NOT quick surgeries and SHOULD NEVER be entered into lightly. These are complicated procedures and NEVER, EVER TAKEN LIGHTLY! To say this woman was negligent is an understatement!! The surgeon obviously has problems, but to be so ill advised is personal negligence in and of itself. What a sad situation that could VERY OBVIOUSLY have been avoided. Sad...Sad...Sad...

It's an example of how desperate we are for quick fixes and instant gratification.

My TT is 10/2008 and i have my first visit withmy doctor on 02/22/2008 and i will be seeing him once a month until my surgery date. In defence of that lady that let Dr.Jan cut into her after 10 min she was desparate but i will not let that desperation make me do something so "STUPID" i wil never say that she deserves what she got i will say however that she got what she paid for My TT will cost $7000 but he is board certified and it will be done in a local hospital and he uses the best hospital locations many to choose from
