Blunt and to the point
Although this is very embarrassing for me, I feel free to ask anything on the board.
This is my issue... During all the weight loss I like lots of you peeps, I have lots of unwanted skin. I have extra skin in the Vaginal area (told ya it wasn't going to be pretty) That excess skin is very uncomfortable and painful at times, an sex whats that? I can't tell you the last time my husband and I was able to have some naughty fun and I not sacrafice and be in so so much pain. I can never find panties, jeans or any garment to fit in that area, all garments are either to big or to small. It is hard to explain the pain but I dont know what to do about it and I just know my doctor is going to think I am daft! Because of the pain, that at times is very excrutiating and never is there a moment that goes by that I dont have pain there and I am to the point I just can't stand clothes of anykind cause they never fit.
Besides the obvious of seeing a doctor, what should I say to him I am afraid he is going to think I am crazy.

You are not alone sister! I too have found that area more uncomfortable/painful since the weight loss. My problem isn't so much excess skin, but now everything that was safely tucked away in the fat is now exposed to clothing.
Sex is also more painful now too and for that I have no explanation. I sure hope some of our more experience wl sisters will come out with some solutions.

I'm still post-op but, since I watch way too many plastic surgery shows, I can tell you that I've heard of a procedure called "vaginal rejuvination" that tightens up all of that skin, muscle, etc. I'm not sure how new the procedure is and whether most plastic surgeons do it yet or not but is definitely worth discussing with your plastic surgeon.
And God knows, he's not going to think you're crazy! Have you seen some of the things people are having done to themselves these days?!?!?
Good luck and keep us posted!

I had to have lipo in that area because of all the extra stuff. Not sure if that would work for you. I couldn't get my insurance to pay for any plastics so I did it all myself. It was worth every penny. If your Doc is the one that you went thru to get GBS then they should understand that you have skin and it hangs and hurts. All you can do is document and take pictures. Good luck I hope that you insurance is "nicer" about than mine was.

Is it something that copious amounts of lube (natural and store-bought) would help? I'm thinking that some of the pain must come from extra skin not normally chosen to enter that hallowed ground getting caught up in the moment and motion....Perhaps, ahem, a closer, wetter inspection would keep everything where it belongs as well as being very erotic....

Is the extra skin in your labia area or the pubis area? I had extra skin in the pubis area and the TT took care of that. If it's in the labial area, that can be taken care of as well. My friend who didn't have gastric bypass and was not really fat, works for a plastic surgeon. After being there a few years they get free plastic surgery. She's had a TT and boob job, but her biggest problem was what she called a fat Lucy( her pubis). She had Lucy lipo'd earlier this year and is so happy. She said it was so noticable when she wore pants or a bathing suit. There isn't one part of the body that a good plastic surgeon cannot fix! I am glad that I no longer have a camel toe when I wear pants that fit me. It wasn't because I was wearing pants that were too tight, it was all the extra skin in my nether regions. Now for insurance, I work for BCBS of NC and have reviewed several plastics cases. you need to review your insurance companies medical policy on cosmetic and reconstruction. You will need to have outstanding documentation by your OB/GYN that you are having pain during sex, any possible chafing, etc. You will need to show that this has been ongoing. One doctor visit is not going to really help. A failed trial of conservative treatment like powders, lotions, supportive underpants, etc. Make sure he/she documents everything...I mean every little detail. Not just...saw patient today for rash and discomfort. Believe me. I have seen the crap that some of these doctors write down and am appalled. Sue

I am there with ya, I watch way to many of the plastic surgery programs. I had heard and watched a Vaginal Rejuvination show and even googled it.... but I guess I am not the kind of chic that can say hey doc wanna take a look lol and tell me what we can do? this kind of surgery would be out of pocket, I have never heard of insurance covering this procedure and yet it is a medical necesity. I am with you gals, besides the pain theres the obvious view through clothing. The only clothing I have that you can't tell is my scrubs and skirts, and I just dont see myself wearing them for life lol

*sigh* if only it was that easy. I was using store bought products and things got real bad. So I went to the doctor and he said stop the products, I am allergic to them and not to mention I am suposed to wear only cotton panties (oh no that wont work, this girl has to feel good in her choice of panties) So my Gyn thinks I am to wear granny panties and go without sex... well yea granny panties would run any one off, my poor husband would just nod and smile and never tell me I look like a granny lol
