Default Jello Smoothie!

Get a sugar free jello cup and freeze it.

Place it in your bullet or blender at home with a 1/4th cup of your favorite juice and chop it until smooth!

I used Cherry jello and fruit juice and a bit of apple juice [tropicana]!

It's a good alternative to sipping clears, and I still love everything frozen!

pmcg, blair only had surgery 3 days ago. If she has gained weight it isn't unusual, actually it is pretty much the norm to put on fluid weight post-op. They give you a lot of fluids during and right after surgery through your IV and almost everyone will retain fluid for the first several days. That's why it isn't always the best idea to be getting on that scale right away. You will only bum yourself out, bigtime!

Blair, this jello smoothie sounds really good as a change of pass during the clear liquid phase. You seem to be doing great! I'm really impressed by your upbeat attitude. Keep up the good work!!

Blair that sounds awesome!! I think I will have to try that. I have been able to tolorate my popcicles pretty well, but not cold liquids...who knows..still worth a try.

Pmcg...if you think 3#'s is bad...I weighed when I got home from the hospital and I had gained 10 #'s from my pre-surgury weigh in. Like Beth, we gain a LOT in the hospital..dang IV's...full of sodium they are. Add to that all that lovely broth...also sodium HIGH...you tend to gain a bit. I am now a week out and a day or two, and am back down and heading down...Thank goodness. That is why one of my tips was NOT to weigh until the 2 week appt. It really sucks to see that gain right after!!!

Yeah, it's a clear liquid.

I guess every surgeon is different.... Mine suggests it, but he's very picky on which ones you can drink.

Oh, PMCG, that 330 was only an approximate on what I thought i'd be at. Actually, I haven't weighed myself since sugery but pre-op I was 333 then it said 332 then she switched it to kilograms for whatever reason but 33 is an easier number to remember so I am going to go by that. lol... It will remain that until my post op appointment on the 20th!

And Milady, you're right... My left arm was really swolen and actually is still sore from the IV.

Oh, and Zen, it's a great drink! I love anything frozen. Fruit, juice, jello, anything! It's so weird. I am so thankful that my pouch has approved so far! Also, the broth was so gross at the hospital... I refused to drink it.... So I had jello and .. iv fluids!
